180,190,200! back tire which one?
 
I Have a 2000 superhawk. I currently have a 190 dunlops on the back. Im kinda a wheelie and turn guy. I've been told to get a 180 because it will handle better. I honestly like how it handles right now. I love the looks of the big 190 on the bacK. I get noticed for it all the time. Should I get the big 200 for bad ass looks or will it eat my speed and handling? or 190 to keep original or 180 for handling? Im leaning torward pirelli diablos. I dont know if the diablo corsas will eat up too quick.

180 is oem. You'll also notice quicker steering and more power. The superhawk doesn't really have the power for a 190 or 200 for that matter and slows steering down.

If your after Butt Jewelry,, Look at some HD's They are King in that department.

If your after what works,, and not just to accessorize, Use the 180. Larger means more rotating mass, taking more power to turn. Not something the SH will do well. You also change the profile when you cram a larger tire on that rim. It will not turn as well with the larger tire,

So the answer is dependent on .. What do you want…....To look cool when your bike is sitting at the local DQ? Or running well on the way to that DQ..... :LOL:

Well I don't understand why there was a 190 when I purchased it. Well I will tell you this, with 3/4 or less a tank I can stand the bike up in 2nd punching it no clutch. will this maybe help improve that? Im also switching to 15 front sprocket and 43 rear sprocket supposable the optimum setup for for every range on bike.

What are you 6'3" and 120 lbs? I have the 15-43 and can't get to wheelie without REALLY trying to get the front up in 2nd. 15-43 does give it a lot more bottom end punch. The 190 was probably squezed on by the po.

haha well Im actually short 5'8 on a good day 140lb. Still has original sprocket and chain size. So I should be able to punch it and feel tire raise in third also?

I'd think if you can do that with stock gearing you'll at least feel it get light.

well I guess decision is made then 180. grrrr I loved that 190 though. Im gonna have to do it and don't look back. hopefully this will return a bit of power too and with the chain and sprocket conversion?

It depends on the riding you do and the roads you do it on. Where I live I think the 15-43 is a bit much because the roads are so straight and I'm always looking for another gear. I bought a 41 to swap out with so I use that on the road and the 43 on the track.

Yeah, well, think of it this way. After you get the 180 on there, instead of:

"Duuuuude, that's a phaaat tire ya got dare!"

You'll now get:

"Bro, how do you get the bike to turn in so quick???? After the 3rd or 4th turn I couldn't even SEE you any more!!!"

Which is more fulfilling?

well in reply to all that Im mainly trying to get my bike to do all of the above with ease: Wheelie, indo, go fuckin fast, corner, you know all the bs that comes with being a yound rider.

I've got a 190 on mine right now but only because they (Dunlop 218's) were given to me by a friend. Turn-in is heavy as heck and it was probably killing my lap times at Mid-Ohio two weeks ago. I've got a set of Qualifiers in the stock size to put on it, I can't wait to do so. The 180 is a way better choice.
