16-43 bliss..
So I did the swap to a 43 tooth rear sprocket today.
Oh man, this is how Honda should have shipped it. Much better in town at least. I can't wait for my next set of twisties. |
Gearing changes are the best bang for the buck performance upgrades you can make.
15/43 is even better. To me. |
I can only imagine.. But I do longer trips still (400-500 mile days) and figure this will do me. I do have a 15t front coming in the mail soon though, so I can always change my mind.

When I bought my kit last year, I mistakenly thought it was a 15-43, it wasn't it was a 16-43 combo. Rode it for a bit, big improvement over stock. I ordered up a 15 tooth. WOW! She tried to pull out of my hands before, now she wants to rip out of my hands. What fun!
People complain about buzzy on the highway, maybe a little, but I'll live with it. Glad you're enjoying your 16-43. Glad you're enjoying your SH. Erik |
This funny because I was going to post the same exact thread. I ordered a 15 / 43 combo but figured I'd just try the 16 / 43 to see if it made a noticable difference. The 16 / 43 is absolutely perfect. The power is exactly where it needs to be all of the time and 2nd gear clutched wheelies when ever I want. Perfect gear combo.

16/41 = 2.5625:1
16/43 = 2.6875:1 15/41 = 2.7333:1 15/43 = 2.8666:1 The CheeperHawk has 15/41 sprockets in place, so I'll see how that works out before considering any changes. Rex |
