undertail issues

When I bought my 98 SH it had an aftermarket metal rear plate bracket/turn signal thing. The extra weight has broken the brackets it mounts on with, and torn the stock plastic undertail all up. I held it together with zip ties for as long as I could.
I was looking on ebay and found this...
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/HONDA...QQcmdZViewItem
would this be a good solution? has anyone had to replace the undertail/plate bracket/ and truck lock assy? as it sits now, I cant get my seat off because the cable comes out of the bracket to hold it in.
Anyone have suggestions on one that is good? Any tips/ tricks? Anything????

no ****,I sold one just like it to another member on here. maybe he will chime in if he has installed it yet? I never installed it but you have to relocate the seat lock and cut the rear fender way down for install but I loved the look of the led lights!! this replaces your stock tail light.they say they will give you an axle mounted plate braket but that may not fit our bikes othe wise you will have to fabricate a plate holder? price wise they are the best value I have seen for a new undertail though

I am wanting to get one like that too. They look sweet. Right color for me and everything but, if they are that much of a pain in the *** to put on then i might not do it.

yeah i saw you had one for sale and you sold it to the guy in the uk. Im not worried about mounting the plate. thats just 2 screws stuck in somewhere. would be nice to relocate it somewhere else too. I emailed the guy on ebay with questions and I will post his answers. I emailed a couple of them before with questions and they all said it was pretty easy but how much of it is tryin to make a sale ya know?

I just put that exact undertail on my 99 SH. I love the look of the LED's, and it wasn't too bad to install at all! (fit it before you paint it though!!!) Good luck!

I have that EBAY undertail also... On a '00 Yellow. My only problem was that it didnt match the bike, and I had to have it painted.

I cut the factory license plate bracket up and just used the plate mount and the little bit of angle piece from it. Drilled a couple holes in the undertail for bolts, and now my plate is sweetly angled back, and less noticeable...

My budby complains that he cant see the LED turn signals at all during the day, and hardly at night... though he does tend to complain alot abotu everything...lol..

Undertails

This is the kit I have, It looks like what you are thinking of...

I get a lot of comments from guys I ride with that my brake lights and turn signals are hard to see during the day....

I love the look, but im thinking of supplementing my rear turn signals somehow...(ideas?)
