triple tree / yoke mish mosh

im putting on a new set of woodcraft clip ons courtesy of another member and they have no rise.

since i have the SP1 front end, including SP1 upper and lower triple's which require the clip ons to be mounted below the top yoke, im not sure im going to have enough clearance between the fairing and the controls from lock to lock.

im wondering if it is possible to use a gullwinged upper (i beleive the 929/954 is gullwinged upper) in conjunction with the SP1 lower. anyone know?

also does anyone know the difference in height from the flat middle to the gullwinged part where the forks clamp?

Far out Jscobey, do you ever stop tinkering?

How's the bike going?

Any more Track Vids?

Already got the woodcrafts so I will make em work. I wanted to use the stock RC clip ons that came with the forks but they actually had a negative rise. I think the woodcrafts will just barleyyyyy work. If not I'll sell em and go for 929 clip and ons. What's the rise on those?

And no kenmoore I never stop tinkering haha. My girlfriend hates it...
I just got tired of trying to get the DM 3 way adjustable clip ons even. They always bugged me because they were never perfect and I could feel one hand higher or lower or more forward or more back or something

so ive found that under triple with no rise bars dosent work on the hawk.

bought myself a pair of 929 bars so we will see how those fit.

if anyone wants a set of woodcraft 50mm clip ons let me know. i LOVE them but they just dont work for my needs.

You could just end the drama and get apex riser bars. They solve all those issues and can be changed to suit mood and riding demands. (sport to long trips)

929/954 Yokes will work with the SP1 lower yoke, spacing and offset are the same and they have quite a bit of drop to clear the clipons
This is a Ho-Hey upper yoke

Here they are on an SP1 conversion on a 919

Does anyone know if 929/954 triples work with 600rr lowers? (slight jack)

The reason I got new clip ons is because i hated the adjustable Dan motos. They never felt even to me no matter what I did

smokinjoe73 06-07-2014 02:25 PM

Danmotos are not even on the same planet as apex risers in terms of quality or adjustability.

I have had my apex bars in many positions and all felt perect and even.

They are also a totally different planet price wise. I think the OEM 929 bars will be just what I'm looking for. I really liked the 98 900rr bars that were on my bike when I bought it. So I'm sure the angle on these bars will be similar.

Another 250 mile trip including Cherohala Skyway today, 929 clip-ons are quite comfortable.

Just right as far as sporty and comfort go, on my R1's the clip-ons would wear on me after about 8 hours. We rode 7 hours today and no problem at all. Way better than the pitiful angle on the stock VTR bars. Me bing long armed and 6'4" makes it hard to get comfortable on anything other than a Busa or a standard, that's why I loved my FZ1's so much. Next bike will be a 2nd gen FZ unless my numbers hit tonight.

Have you thought about fitting a set if these http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/301128274274
Fit bar clamps then you can adjust the bars to any hight or angle you like
