Superhawk Mods - new suggestions

I'm not looking to dump a lot of $$ (at once). I just bought a blue 2003 bone stock. I think I'd like flush mount signals (front). rear eliminator kit and lower fairing. Any suggestions on brand/where to purchase these? Additional peroformance enhancing options I should consider or add in the near future? Open to suggestions. thanks

hands down, exhaust and an air filter/jet kit is a must. sharkskinz makes a pretty awesome lower fairing. also, there are some pretty cool flush mount turn signals made, i just cant remember the name of the company. if you do some searching on here you can find it though.

As far as cosmetic upgrades, take a look at the Protons or WatsenDesign =LED flushmounts. Both are nice and in the uipper price range. For tail lights, you can do the ebay integrated tail or you can do my LED retrofit mod to the stock tail. Look in the Knowledge Base forum section for the sticky on it. I didn't use any fender elminator kit. Mine is just the stocker trimmed up considerably and then used a hinge to mount the tag so its flippable ;).

hey haknslash, do you have any pictures of that? id like to see it.

haknslash 08-16-2008 09:48 AM

Pics of which? The hinge?

Death Cattle 08-16-2008 06:47 PM

a picture of the whole tail of your bike. id like to see how its trimmed up. and ya, the hinge would be kind of cool to see also.

haknslash 08-16-2008 06:55 PM

You can see some of the tail in the how-to thread https://www.superhawkforum.com/forum...ad.php?t=15217

I'll try and take some pics tomorrow after I get back from riding.

cool, thanks. i just like to see the outcome of different ideas that people have.

For any respectable V-twin owner, I would think that a slip-on exhaust should be required. ;)

divingindaytona 08-16-2008 09:46 PM

I vote for an exhaust, and a jet kit.

Let that V-twin, sound like a V-twin :)

I'm working on my 2005 VTR. I went with Rumble Imports undertail: http://rumbleimport.com/store/rumble...006-p-117.html

Cometition Wekes makes an undertail: http://www.solomotoparts.com/product...7&cat=0&page=1

I'm stuck on whether I want a Jardine or Leo Vince high mount slip on exhaust.

In my opinion one of the best I've ever seen

salmanilla2000 08-19-2008 06:31 PM

If doggerman's VTR were black, you could make a new version of "Knight Rider".

where is a good site to get: zero gravity, protons, watsen and integrated tail light? when I put inthe tail light where do I put the plate? kit?

Pimpsterbim1 08-23-2008 08:01 PM

If u cant afford an exhaust right now than preform a baffle-ectomy, it will sound alot better (over stock) and u shouldnt need a jet kit... and oh ya Its Free!!

Blueracer 08-24-2008 07:51 AM

Is that just drilling the 12,3,6,9 around the exhaust?

Pimpsterbim1 08-24-2008 08:04 AM

I'm not shure, mine came with it, but i know there is a nice thred explaining how to do it.. just use the search..

I put a lower fairing, rumble imports undertail, and a rear hugger. But by the time you add in paint (you won't find them new in blue) it cost me about $900.
