so i was riding on a poker run and exhaust broke

on the last leg of a 150 mile 7 hours poker run (which i never had a chance of getting a good hand) my ehaust boke on me. my rivits had been stretching out the hole on the can for a while now, well they finally broke off. so i had to ride about 15 miles with the can just hanging in the hanger and the exhaust runnin super loud. heres some picture of what happened and how i fixed it

this is how it broke and i tried everything to get this piece off but its like welded its self to the mid pipe

thought about cutting off about an inch but i decided to cut about 6 and go with the shorty look

Looks good. Nice job! Did it get louder with shorter pipes?
Did you take the opportunity to put in new packing?

kj4kym 08-03-2010 04:43 PM

well were the exhaust was so broke before it actually got a little more quite. until i open her up and then shes nice but its really not that bad... as for the packing i just used the old packing that was end there. and for the little bit that i cut off i cramed it down in there as well....

your windscreen is broken and should be replaced along with the left fairing, there may be other damage as well.

01SuperChicken 08-04-2010 08:09 AM

Failed Stoppie or wheelie?

I haven't even rode mine in 2 weeks. I feel like such a frickin cager!

kj4kym 08-04-2010 08:16 AM

epic fail and a first gear wheelie at slow speeds. i was just trying to learn how to ride them slow but... broken oil caps for the brake side and clutch side, broken clocks, broke clutch lever, bent clip on, tore out my taillight broke the rear fairing, minor bend in the rear set, no mirrors no more, passenger peg bracket is toast... and like all the fairing are done for as well as the windscreen... probably more but ive just starting looking into it

...at least you were slow.

I looped my Triumph. :(

3rd gear....mud or something on my left boot. Standing up, leaning to the left to see past the windscreen. Slipped off. Totalled.

Now I promised my wife and kids, no more hooliganism. (but accidents happen. sssshhhh! ...just no more high speed accidents)

what's wrong with you guys riding on one wheel like that. God gave you two wheels and you're still not satisfied. He should permanently relegate yous two to unicycles for being so ungrateful.:D

that should buff right out!
