My Little Project!

I have been fairly busy this year, bought my bike last September ansd stripped it straight away, I have done all the work myself apart from the airbrushing - it did look like this:

I tried a few different lights and rear ends:

Eventually came up with CBR600RR rear, VFR800 SSSA, just been really busy and trying to get the bike finished for the Ace cafe streetfighter show - this is what it looks like now!
My mate also offered to airbrush it all for free, so now looks like a big reptile skinned monster! Let me know what ya think!!

Looks good. I must confess to not being overly fussy for the upraised tail section but it seems to be a common direction for streetfightered VTRs.

Kudos :)

Looks good, I like the airbrushing.

Cheers Mikstr, i know what you mean about the high tail look, I love the look of it but my balls are not so happy! I am going to make adjustable plates so that when i go on long rides it is a bit more comfortable! And my neighbour is going to make me a gel seat too cos the standard RR one is like sitting on a plank of wood!!!

My mate (big bald git sitting on the bike) did all the airbrushing for the pricely sum of Nowt!! I love the look of it now, it was just in Satin black but the airbrushing makes it look pretty special!

Love the front lights. Custom?

Crashrat 06-25-2010 08:23 AM

Great looking bike. I love the underslung exhaust. Did you have to bend the header to get the end to clear the tire?

While also not a fan of the the bumblebee tail look, I can appreciate a well done bike, and everyone has their own likes and dislikes.

Well done :D

swordfish 06-25-2010 03:55 PM

love everything except the tail angle. just not a fan. every time I see one like that it reminds me of a cat about to piss on something.

pigwings 06-25-2010 04:02 PM

great job

Just_Nick 06-25-2010 07:29 PM

I personally don't like the raised tail section, it slides you into the tank, but it looks good.

nuhawk 06-25-2010 08:35 PM

It also requires an aggressive front suspension to support it.

Firestorm996 06-26-2010 05:06 AM

You should think about a 6-spoke front wheel to match the rear better...
Other than that a awesome looking bike, great job !

Seattle_SuperHawk 06-26-2010 05:25 AM

very nice, if you still have that lower fairing PM me i will buy off you ;)

RWhisen 06-26-2010 05:40 AM

I bet you neighbors are really digging that muffler.....

hondavtr1000sp2 06-27-2010 04:16 AM

Nice job Bealsey, I'm no fan of the upswept tail's. But we all like different things. Great job.

bealsey 07-05-2010 02:32 AM

Thanks for the positive comments, My plans are to have an adjustable rear end, to have the highest setting as it is and to have a few other adjustments for normal riding, as it is a bit too heavy on the wrists (and nuts!) I ahve also got the matching six spoke front already painted the same as the rear, just need a tyre on it!

Nice bike.... always a fan of the custom thing even if it is/isn't my taste...

Questions on the exhaust.... how ridiculously loud is it? And... how does it run? I have a project in the basement I haven't touched in a year that is an exhaust from being "ride-able" and have been kicking around how to handle the exhaust can size/location... definitley doing the single can thing, but curious on if hte bike is gonna run right afterward...

Thanks..

J.

Sorry about the delay, lets put it this way, my neighbours are pretty pissed off and my wife said she could here me ride out of the village about 2 miles away! I am making a baffle though that hopefully should quieten it a bit!! My mate who was following me said that the back fire sounded like a shotgun going off!!

RoofCleanPhenom 07-29-2010 02:23 PM

Completely ruined.

Fair enough, some people like it some people obviously don't! each to there own opinion though! Trust me when I bought it it was not beautiful, the back seat unit was held together with tape and wood, it was definately showing its age and it was pretty unloved!!

Love it or hate it, you've gotta give credit where credit's due!! Personally... I like it alot. Forget anyone else, The sense of achievement you must get doing all the work yourself. There's nothing better (apart from riding it that is)

NOW.. my question: What's the clearance like with that low-slung Termi going into a right hander? Doesn't appear to be much allowance for leaning over. The VTR's header (and pegs) are restrictive enough (some would say)??!!

Also, a set of upside-downs would just set that bike off. Not only the added benefit of upgraded suspension.. really fills out the nakeds beautifully.

It is very cool knowing I have done the hard graft, and my mate loves it cos he did all the paint! The can has not been a problem yet but i am looking at changing it to a Micron can which sits higher. I would love to put the CBR1000RR front end on when cash allows!
I have added a few updated pics and a small vid for your viewing pleasure (displeasure!)

I have put the matching front wheel on, changed the angle of the seat to make it easier on the wrists and have now ridden it! Its bloody loud and very weird getting used to the V twin. Went for a ride the other day had a massive grin riding round in the sun, lovely day.

Use a 17t Front sprocket with that VFR swinger.
It'll make the Bike a hell of a lot smoother.
I think I used one off a Fireblade but I had to make up a 3mm shim to go behind it on the shaft.

steve.g 08-22-2010 06:09 PM

Very unique and very cool. Nice one !

Snoogle 11-19-2010 01:01 PM

Love it!!

If I had the cajones I would do this instead of just a spray!!!

apex459 11-25-2010 05:59 PM

Killer lookin sled bro. Is that a 600rr subframe? Hows it run with the single can?
