Mirror Extenders

1 Attachment(s)
I keep getting members asking me about these mirror extenders. A member on the old RLZ SuperHawk Foruym made a batch for members way i guess 7 or 8 years ago.

If there are any machinists on here that want to tackle making some for other members i would gladly send them some close up pics and measurements.

And no i am not reducing the picture size, if you don't like it, move on!

I've got a set of those. Oh, crap! What was his name again? Don Herve, right?

Thumper Oct 12, 2011 07:35 PM

Yea that sounds right HawkRider, been a while since a chatted with you. Wow i can't beleive i have had the Superhawk for 12 years now. Heck all the mods i did, like you i am sure were done well over 8 years ago.

Bike is still strong as ever, but i have wondered over to the KTM line of bike for now and dable a little with the wifes bad boy SV650S.

There's a guy over on the Hawklist who might give it a go...if we make it worth his while?
I have a suspicion they might be a little pricey, though. How much were the ones Don made?

CrankenFine Oct 13, 2011 03:55 AM

These appear to be two sets of stalks machined to be rejoined at opposite ends? If so I have a spare pair of mirrors and if we find a machinist I am going for a set of these. :p

Tormoz Oct 13, 2011 06:07 AM

Count me in, too -- I'm tired of seeing my elbows in the mirrors.

intoxxx Oct 13, 2011 10:20 AM

i too asked. yep a wanted item

So that means you're still running stereo stock stalks?

funny man, fellow hometown Pittsburgher... concentrate on the Steelers improving beyond 3-2 . you might learn what stalkiness is by watching american sports. look for the tall guys with muscles, not the fat boys on the line.

Yeah, I thought the same thing. Just can't bring myself to spend that much for so little.

inderocker Oct 18, 2011 09:56 AM

You can buy them on Twisted Throttle for $30....

I work at a full cnc machine shop and we make parts for the aerospace industry so these should be interesting or maybe I can work up something similar. Send me some specs and pics to archaicguy70@yahoo.com

Well, I FINALLY got them just before New Year. Look fine. I'll try to get off my butt tomorrow and put them on and take a few pics. Communication from the seller wasn't the best, but they did let me know they were backordered, so it's all good there.

From another post it sounds like they went up in price?

Ok this is where I'm at with the extenders.....Will add nearly 2" additional length. All I need to do is some drilling and tapping. Considering powder coating also. I do have a gloss black powder coat that I will probably do mine in.

Those look pretty good!

1971allchaos Jan 10, 2012 06:21 PM

Is there a option for the group, to have access to buy a set of extenders?

archaicguy Jan 11, 2012 02:30 AM

Absolutely........These are being done because of and for the group. I will get this first pair finished up and decide on hardware options and post when it is finished.

Very nice. Looking forward to seeing the finished product. :)

nuhawk Jan 11, 2012 06:33 PM

I agree! Nicely done. I'm a little concerned about the weight difference. Do you have a way to check the weight of the modded setup and compare it to the stock setup? Thanks!
