LED taillight ideas

Has anyone tried this item? I'm looking for a simple bolt on/hook up with stock wiring set up.
Any other insights?

thanks for the link. I checked that one out. but no signals in the lens. I noticed one guy says he bought one off of ebay, but wasn't happy with it.

Have one. easy install. works well. needs fully charged battery to flash correctly.

I have one, it works fine.. However it is impossible to tell what direction you are signaling from further back than about 40 ft. It just looks like the whole light is blinking from that distance. (yruyur also has one, I know from following his bike at night) so to help with that problem I added additional blinkers to the bottom of my passenger pegs. No more ambiguity.

I've got one too - not that vendor, but off Ebay for about the same $$$. I also have an electronic flasher so I have no problems with the LED flach rate.
If you are considering this as your only rear flasher, be aware it is not the brightest. I use it in conjunction with my undertail signals and the combination is fairly visible

thanks for the replies guys.
I'll get the taillight, and if I find it horribly dim, I'll just put on another set of signals on the back.

One quick note about those LED tail lights...

Miner:

If at all possible, try to get one that has a licence plate illumination LED strip integrated into the brake/turn signal setup. I have one of these integrated turn signal LED setups like a lot of the guys do. But the former owner of my Superhawk put this one in, and it doesn't have the licence plate LED illumination strip.
So I happened to be going out to the hardware store over the summer and low and behold there was a small white LED strip that would work perfectly for my setup - double sided foam adhesive tape included. ...So, just a note to think about. :)

I'm not sure which one you're talkin about, can you post a pic?
Or Lazn...where did you mount them on your passenger pegs? Pic please?

Since I get lots of questions about that, here they are:

Then I used zip ties and silicon glue to hide the wiring in the hollow of the peg mount.

Edit: you can't see them unless you know to look for them, until I turn them on.. then they are nice and bright.

Perhaps, I got them at Cyclegear, and they weren't labeled as any particular bike. But those do look very similar.

Thanks, I'll check my local Cyclegear.
