Yes that would add a small degree of difficulty to swapping it in....... ;)

Tweety 09-07-2010 01:00 PM

Why on earth would you want to install that?

djbizkets 09-07-2010 01:03 PM

HAHA..yes that would be quite difficult... nevermine then. thanks guys.

nothing 09-07-2010 01:09 PM

try the...

trail tech vapor
or
acewell

djbizkets 09-07-2010 01:11 PM

@nothing.. ok thanks

Tweety 09-07-2010 01:54 PM

What's the purpose of this... Smaller gauges? Modern gauges? Adding functions?

I'll just do what I have done before... Go budget style and swap to a CBR gauge...

Looks like a nice replacement for my NT650. Thanks for the heads up!

Crashrat 09-07-2010 03:07 PM

The tough mod is going to a CB750 front wheel in which case this would work out fine ;)

These actually look pretty need IMO, but I'm running a GPS watch.

guess I should jump on the gps watch bandwagon, huh? what does a little watch do for you tell the coordinates?

Crashrat 09-08-2010 09:36 AM

Forgive me if I'm wrong, but Justin sounds a little like a spambot.

My GPS watch gives speed, average speed, distance... It's small enough so that it fits between the risers on the triple. It's rechargeable, waterproof and has a back light, too. I'll take some pictures if you're interested.

hey that actually does sound really cool in a configuration like that. if you'd snap a pic I would for sure look at it

Crashrat 09-08-2010 03:48 PM

It's been working out ok. I think it's probably as accurate a speedo as you can get and I used to use it when I jogged and rode my bike. (I'm so slow on the bike right now that I really don't want specifics.)

that's a big-azz watch, looks like it undoubtedly does the trick though. interesting to say the least.

Crashrat 09-09-2010 07:33 AM

It is a bit much as a watch, but it straps to just about anything. (I come from a time when big-a$$ watches with calculators and Space Invaders were consider high-geek cool) I have used it to geocache yet, but it looks like you can plug the info, too.

It is much, much lighter than the stock clocks and the mounting bracket.

Erik S. 09-09-2010 08:07 AM

What's the model number on it?

Crashrat 09-09-2010 09:30 AM

Hey Eric,

I think it was a Garmin Forerunner 101. Make sure you can recharge it. I was running a battery unit on the Buell and it sucked to have to change the AAA batteries everytime I was a bonehead and left the thing on ;)

So I guess this speedometer won't work either: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...=STRK:MEWAX:IT

inderocker 10-11-2010 11:31 AM

Why wouldn't it?

NooB 10-11-2010 11:40 AM

For $339 they can shove it.

That's what I'm trying to find out. I'm "yellow bus" stupid about these things.

Just_Nick 10-12-2010 03:28 PM

Koso gauges use a magnet and a pickup to measure speed. So you may even be able to use the stock speed pickup and adjust the "tire diameter" setting on the gauges.
However for the price, I'd rather buy some CBR gauges.

Would a Speedohealer help or throw off the Koso setup?

Just_Nick 10-12-2010 09:07 PM

With the Koso Speedo, you actually input a tire diameter based on whatever size tire you're running, so it is in fact adjustable. It then calculates your speed based off how fast the magnet passes by the magnet.
What I did was put my GPS on my bike and adjusted it until I got the same speed as my GPS was displaying. Worked pretty well.
