Are the mid pipes for your Jardines chrome? I just mounted mine this weekend and they were mill finish stainless. I was somewhat bummed out after spending the coin to ceramic the header nickel. I ask because I know the light plays games with chrome - sometimes looks black. IF Jardine has some chrome ones or if I know they at least made them, I might have some negotiating power. I appreciate your advice!

Sorry, the cans are made by fuel http://www.fuelexhausts.com/ originaly i had low level mid pipes but i got some high level mid's off ebay, don't have a clue what cans the link pipes were originaly made for, i had to cut 5" off them, cans stuck out why to far, just looked stupid. I'm still not 100% happy with the looks, might shorten the cans a bit, we'll see.... PS the mid pipes are polished stainless |
Thanks, mak! I'm still bummed. I guess next winter they're off to the powder coater! I had her running tonight just long enough to bring the needle off the rest on the temp gauge and the mids were already bronzing up! I'm still going to call Jardine and raise hell about this! Thanks, again!

Looks awesome :)
I hate to be the bearer of bad news BUT... you should have painted it midnight blue (see my pics in gallery), it is widely known to be the fastest colour (estimated to be good for @ 5 mph on its own) :) |

Looking nice.... I've seen a few dark painted frames, always seem to look good on the Hawk. Also really like the rads.... is it just flat black paint?

J. yep, just used heat resistant paint from a rattle can, so far i've only run the bike up to bleed the rads but seem's ok. It said on the can it's heat resistant up to 650 so should be fine. we'll see..... Also painted the grills silver as a contrast. |
Bike's all finished now, stuck up some pics in the member's rides section. cheers:D :D

Bike looks awesome!!!! congrats
Question for you: have you noticed any difference in the bike's ability to cool itself since painting the rads black (ie. has the paint acted as an insulator and caused the bke to run warmer) ? I think it looks great and may do the same to mine, but I wnat to be sure it won't compromise the bike'a already limited ability to cool itself. cheers |
How do the fuel cans sound compared to stock?
