I dont know but I Like the look alot. Think I will do a search on it.

Dan Cronin 04-21-2009 02:40 PM

I've been looking at that photo for awhile and its the best I've seen. The only things that I've been wrestling with are:

1) how it would look with superbike bars
2) how it would look with a 2-into-1 pipe that doesn't go out the tail
3) is it a CBR nose or a modded rc51 nose

lazn 04-21-2009 02:44 PM

Well it's a photoshop job for sure..

jbaxx 04-21-2009 02:50 PM

Looks good, but I already have a black CBR1000RR! :evillaugh:

seb421 04-21-2009 02:55 PM

as far as i'm aware this was to be released in 2007 by Honda, the image wasn't photoshoped i have just cut it out using a basic photo program, i remember seeing somewhere it was also going to be 1200cc too. i believe it was dropped as they feared it would take sales off the blade. i have seen another image of this bike from another angle, fingers crossed i have it somewhere.

You didn't photoshop it. But I am sure this is not a picture of a real motorcycle.

It is an artist rendering for promotional purposes. And I too remember the 1200cc VTR rumors, but that is all they were.. rumors.

edit: just like this isn't a real motorcycle http://www.motorcycledaily.com/041609side.jpg but rather a rendering from this page http://www.motorcycledaily.com/16april09_bulltaco.htm Looks fairly real.. but isn't.

lazn 04-21-2009 03:07 PM

In fact if you google "Oberdan Bezzi vtr" you find that picture, Oberdan Bezzi is the artist who drew it.

edit: actually here http://www.raptorsandrockets.com/New...ugust_2006.htm it was Xavier Gordillo & Luc1 who did the CG work.

"Our artists impression shows a very sporty Firestorm with parts taken from the firms CBR1000RR Fireblade. With a new grunty 1200cc V-twin the bike needs a new chassis that will have been developed only for this bike."

its a shame that bike wasn't brought to life, i personally think it looks better than most out there on the road, i would go buy one 2moro. there is a CBR RR3 in my garage as well as the VTR Firestorm and i personaly love the Twins motor, okay the RR3 does kill the firestorm on the turns and on the straights but for the sheer love of riding nothing beats the grunt and feel of the twin.

1. Dunno, probably looks OK... Try it...
2. Nope, na-ha, nein, njet, nichts... NEJ! If you do that rear end, get the 1000RR subframe and end can and use that... Otherwise it will look like a complete clusterfuck in my opinion...
3. Looks like a photoshop graft of the CBR nose cone on the stock VTR sides with a bit of mesh net thown in there to emulate the RC look... I think it's probably easier to use a VTR race plastics with no hole for the light and make custom mounts for CBR lights... A complete CBR nose would require custom plastics and loads of work... Could always fit a full CBR fairing with a whole lot of work though...

Byrdman 04-21-2009 04:28 PM

If this will work on the hawk, I would deffenetly do it to the hawk. I think it looks awesome

Tweety 04-21-2009 04:40 PM

Well... Somebody has to go first...:) Try it already... ;)

Tweety 04-21-2009 05:02 PM

Dang nabbit... Now you put another damned idea in my head... I'm gonna go drink large amounts of whiskey... Hopefully the resulting hang over tomorrow will make me give up the idea... Otherwise I might end up trying it...

And I though I was nearing completion on my build... ... At the very least getting close... :(

1. OK. I'll give it a shot. Just bought a tail off of Ebay. I'll look to see how it lines up before committing to either modding a 1000rr sub frame or just putting one together.

2. Never say never until you see it. Quite a few projects posted on this site had me scratching my head as to why someone would do that to their bike. Later, as the project progressed, I grew to like the design. Besides, I've got a 2-into-1 I want to put back on the bike so why not try. That and I never liked the look of the under tail exhaust except on the Ducati.
3. Punt. Have to think about the nose after seeing how the tail will look.

Looks like a good Spring/Summer project.

Malice 04-21-2009 09:21 PM

That's a nice ass!!! The biggest issue I see is getting the exhaust routed back up under the tail without going outside the swingarm and looking fugly. I've been working on a design for that little dilema myself but since I live in a condo right now I can't tear the rear header off and work on fabbing up my own piece. After seeing that though, I may have to con a buddy into letting me use his garage for a weekend :D

What year tail is that?

Dan Cronin 05-01-2009 07:17 PM

The tail is from an 06 1000rr. Just got the rear cowl today and it is WIDE. When I originally thought about doing this I thought the 600rr tail would be just about the right width. I'd be curious to see what the dimension differences are between a 1000rr and a 600rr tail.

I'm real interested in this mod. I love the look of that 1000rr tail on the SH. A detailed thread of this mod would be greatly appreciated. Who knows, it might be a nice winter 09 mod.......

Well that one is just a photoshop, (not a real mod) but the closest you can actually get is what Tweety has done. https://www.superhawkforum.com/forum...ad.php?t=17889

Though for looks, someone did put a R1 tail on too.. but he didn't do the swing arm.

alive226 05-02-2009 09:00 PM

I saw Tweety's mod. I was talking about the tail section. I like that look. I love what Tweety did, with his swingarm and everything else (which was alot). For me the R1 tail doesn't look as good as the Blade tail does.

There is a vtr in my area street fighter,no front fairing, superbike bars,05 cbr1000rr rear seat and o5 cbr1000rr seat duck tail, polished wheels, yoshi twin exhaust.i dont know what sub frame he used but it was a bolt on job.looked very nice, very agressive & original. Also there is the PVM VIPER RC51 street fighter, same style,no front fairing and also the cbr1000rr rear seat fairing, very NICE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

mikstr 07-14-2009 05:45 AM

That Viper is, IMO, quite possibly the nicest bike I have ever seen!

hondavtr1000sp2 07-14-2009 06:06 AM

Mikstr i agree!I am thinking of building my firestorm into the same style.

alive226 07-15-2009 06:34 AM

That is one gorgeous bike. I'd love to hear the work that went into it.
