Bar Risers
So I just recently purchased a vtr 1000 and the older gentleman who owned it had put bar risers on it I was wondering if it was more comfortable with them lower or should I just leave them on there, these are photos from the day I bought the bike, the guy had dropped it apparently on the right side and was in the process of moving and I came al5at the right time few scratches on the fairing but i since ordered new ones and new grips (cause he didn't glue them on and used tie wraps) and new bar ends also a fender eliminator kit from werks and I got a tire hugger comming in fron Europe tomorrow https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.sup...a7f0c19235.jpg

I'd feel that's kind of subjective. Maybe ride it as is and then try it with the bars at stock height and see which you like better. I had a 1st gen FZ1 and it already had the lower GYTR bar on it and with the amount of power the bike had I actually would wish for even lower bars out on the highway. But again, that's just my opinion. I'm not 20 anymore and I'm sure there are times the higher bars would be appreciated. Love your black/red decal '99 by the way. I have the same bike.
Curious when you say you ordered new fairings did you find new OEM replacements or something else? |
I found a company in Australia that manufactures bike fairings when was looking for replacements for my ninja and the quality was great these are apparently "factory replacements" for the firestorm soo they will be sending me firestorm decals so well see how we like it

I have risers and low rise bars and love them and the more upright seating position.
Stock bars hurt my back after maybe an hour... |
I would leave the risers on. Then go shopping for second generation clip ons, as they will improve what’s there now |
+1 on leaving them on and trying it for a while. I have adjustables and unless your doing track days you will probably like the higher bars better.

I've got the helibars on mine. I'd love to have superbike/risers on it as I use the bike as a sport tourer and I'm short torso'd. Those are pretty cool risers!
