Starve the lizards you blokes, come on there must be some really cool bikes out there that we would want to see.

I know there are some really good bikes here in Oz that other people deserve to see.

Post up some pics and give everyone some ideas on what to do with their bikes.

Come on Aussies show the rest of the world what you have!!!!!!!!!!!

CruxGNZ 05-06-2014 07:36 PM

I know I'm not in OZ, but I'll have some new pictures to show of my bike :) Just give me a few more days. I'll have something to show you guys!

Bike looks good :)

jscobey 05-07-2014 03:49 PM

Thanks Mik. I Can't say a lot of it wasnt inspired by your bike.

mikstr 05-07-2014 05:55 PM

Just as I was, and continue to be, inspired by others. Tis the beauty of a site like this, populated by like-minded folks driven by passion :)

kenmoore 05-08-2014 01:58 AM

Jscobey, love the angle of your pipes.

How did you get them like that?

What is the length of your hanger brackets?

By the way your bike is way cool, and loved the track vid!!

jscobey 05-08-2014 06:54 AM

Thanks kenmoore! The pipes were meant to be mounted that way. It's all about the shape of the mid pipes. I don't believe there is any way to take standard angle cans and reposition them via the hangers to move them where mine are. You would need new mid pipes. Mines the only set I've seen in the position that they are, besides some of that race VTRs ;)

sailorjerry 05-08-2014 03:36 PM

Actually there are a couple mounted the way yours are. IIRC all are different brands too. Always made me curious.

I'm the kind of guy that likes stealth mods, so not a lot of bling. All are listed below in my sig [at least I think].

Tasteful and clean

CruxGNZ 05-13-2014 09:51 PM

I know I said I was going to throw mine in the mix, but my bike isn't ready yet. I just have to much to do and not enough time this time around.

I'll get 'er in there next time around.

I agree with Jerry. Wolverine, that is one very clean Superhawk!

The RC calipers are not a direct bolt on mod, you have to either remove some aluminum on the lower mounting lug or around the recessed area for the bolt hole in the caliper. Not much either way. I choose to do the caliper because it is the added part not the stock part.

Thanks for the compliments guys, the old SHawk draws attension wherever it goes.

lloydievtr 05-15-2014 04:56 PM

poll now up

kenmoore 05-17-2014 04:39 AM

Firedog, hawks, or as we call them here in Australia Storms have a habit of collecting comments.

The funniest One goes like this, I was approached by a guy after pulling up in a small village near me that is frequented on the weekends by what I call the Late' Set and he says to me"how come your bike doesn't rattle like my mates Ducati." And I say to him Because it's not a Ducati, and then I walk of to turn around and see him scratching his chin trying to work out what sort of bike it is.

That's the good thing about our bikes, they are stealth machines that fly under the radar and confuse folks all the time including ourselves their owners.

Some really tasty bikes this month, however I'm sure there are a few more worthy examples that should be in this poll.

More bikes please, I'm looking for inspiration!

firedog55 05-17-2014 09:56 AM

Wolverine-Is that a picture of you at Deals Gap? Did you ride the Cherahola Skyway while you were there? A much better road IMHO, higher speeds, large sweeping turns, elevation changes, and smooth pavement. Heaven on earth for performance bikes. Deals gap reminds me of pushing a wheelbarrow through a wooded trail. Great picture of you and your Shawk.

kenmoore-I always tell people the Shawk is a better made Japanese Ducati when they ask what it is.

Yes and yes! Cherahola was awesome. 2 wheel heaven in that area! I was really testing the limits of lean angle 2-up and range. I got up there and didn't realize how low I was on fuel. Got kinda nervous for a while! What a gem of a road! The dragon was amazing. I had free run for 2 days, no po-po and limited cages, which pulled over anyway. I will be back. ;)

my-dragon-run

Voted for ya dog, love the wheels.

VTR1000F 05-18-2014 10:57 AM

This is hard. Do I vote for the yellow one, the one with a picture taken at the track or the one ahead in the poll? Decisions, decisions.

lloydievtr 05-30-2014 09:33 PM

Poll closed

kenmoore 05-31-2014 02:07 AM

She it, missed posting my vote!

However the winner is a great bike and the right colour.

Saves me agonising over who to vote for.

firedog55 05-31-2014 08:11 AM

Hey guys,
Thanks for the votes. Second time around for VTROM, bike was winner in 9/11. Here's some pics from right after I did the mods.

The pics I posted for May's VTROM were current pics. Hopefully this will be the last time you'll have to look at this old SHawk. Thanks again for the compliments. Enjoy the pics, ride safe.

jscobey 05-31-2014 03:12 PM

The pics you posted as your "entry" this month were not current unless you were able to create the exact same shot 3 years after your win in 9-11 hahttps://www.superhawkforum.com/forum...-2011-a-26517/

Now I'm questioning the entire legitimacy of your win. I demand the council to look into this matter. Recount!!!!

firedog55 06-03-2014 12:14 PM

jscobey-You are correct, the pictures posted were not the most current. I have many pictures in my computer files and they are not listed by date, although they do accurately represent my bike. While looking for the 3 pictures to post on VTROM 5/14 I chose 3 that I thought were accurate. I was not aware that the pictures had to be "current", taken the day of the posting.

I gladly concede the VTROM 5/14 to you as the winner. Moderators please delete my entry in May's contest for VTROM.

I'm not interested in an internet pissing contest. But to ease your mind, and clear my reputation, I've taken pictures today with my Super Hawk and our local newspaper, The Daily Journal, dated 6/2/14. Also please note the current vehicle registration and odometer reading.

Here's a link to the first post on my Super Hawk, right after the updates were done:
