Well here she is 1 year down the track and still more to do.

Haven't done much to her lately except ride because I enjoy it so much.

I have tried to be subtle with this bike and keep the overall look of a VTR however if you look closely there have been a lot of changes.

So the following has been done.

Replaced 99% of the fasteners with stainless Allen Head bolts including engine cases, polished engine cases with all logos removed.

Fireblade swing arm brace , coerce fork brace and sprocket cover, new 530 gold x ring chain sprockets and new Cush drive rubbers.

Modified Dan Moto Rear Sets.

Dynojet carby kit with a few changes to the jetting and no holes drilled in slides.

J.E high comp pistons, cleaned up the cylinder head porting, not that there was much to do, polished shot peened rods, H Power lightened Flywheel, electric water pump, 4 degree ignition advancer! removed anti rattle gears! remote vac lines for carby sync! removed PAIR system, removed lip in R/ H side exhaust header, projection racing high mount exhaust brackets with Mussari flange type cans in stainless with modded baffles. Cockpit mounted oil pressure gauge.

Hell braided brake lines all round with CBR 600 F4i calipers, foldable adjustable clutch and brake levers.

Modded front forks with springs and some mods to damper rod and valves, 5wt fork oil with decreased air cap, preload adjusters and as mentioned before the coerce fork brace. Removed the Nissin logos from calipers and painted calipers and fork legs black.

Hell braided clutch line.

Integrated LED Tail light and flush mount LEd fairing mounted front blinkers with new LEd flasher relay.

Reworked standard back shock .

Polished alloy brake reservoir caps all round.

Painted wheels white with polished lips and fitted all new bearings as well as new swingarm and suspension bearings.

04 R1 hugger fitted to braced swinger.

Mesh in air vents on front fairing as well as custom mesh headlight cover.

Bar end mirrors and Honda single seat cover.

I'm sure that I have missed a few things and there are a few more things waiting to go on including a HRC coolant bottle and a HRC rear brake master cylinder tube but that's about it.

This bike is my all time favourite and I just can't stop tinkering with it. It is more than it's sum of parts to me.

kenmoore 02-10-2015 11:59 AM

Come on guys, how about some more bikes.

kenmoore 02-13-2015 01:44 AM

Major disappointment guys, come on post some bikes.

My bike can't be that scarey!

I have seen bikes on here way better in my opinion.

In my mind the jury is still out on whether the incredible roads there are worth the pi** cold winter.

1998 SuperHawk.

This model was sold here as a Firestorm but this one is an import.

Its no Carpet Queen. It gets ridden everyday to work and does weekend pillion work (hence the seat which helps my partner a lot). And it does track days. Have one tomorrow.

FIL Mod.
Wrapped air box and fuel lines.
Water overflow bottle re-position
Crank breather to the rear fairing
Single throttle cable
Manual CCT
All Balls head bearings
CBR600 top yoke
Hot grips
DP HH+ pads
Braided lines
BT016s for track days and PR2s for road
Ohlins rear shock
Racetech fork springs and gold valves with secret rebound valve mod
Scottoiler
Speedo healer as I change gearing for track
Harris rearsets
Coil on plug
Much more I have forgotten

Coming is a swingarm brace when I can find somebody to weld it. Looking at getting a pillion only bike so then I will change the seat so I can run the pillion cover again and get rid of the pillion peg mounts.

kenmoore -You got my vote!

kenmoore 02-14-2015 02:32 AM

Jedrek,

Thanks mate, there's still time to put yours on.

I want your pipes, they are the best I've seen..

I reckon with a quality set of carbon cans and your engine pipes the VTR would sound insane.

You have a few other bits I would give my left knacker for (very painful)that are unobtainium here in Oz.

I think it's a shame that there are not more bikes on here.

I'm sure there are bikes out there that have some rare bits on them.

I would like to see a bit of Moriwaki stuff on here.

Anyway, good to see some activity on here!

-EXTREME weight saving (removed, well, everything)
-Moriwaki rearset (just had time to put one on...sort of)

kenmoore 02-15-2015 02:46 AM

Geez that's funny Crux!

You've got my vote!

Those rear sets look solid as well.

hawxter996 02-16-2015 04:03 PM

kenmoore gets my vote this year.

I was just messin' around posting that picture! I honestly didn't think I would be placed in the poll. I didn't even abide by the rules. If possible, I would like to retract my entry and let MOONSTER take my place. Is this possible? His entry was posted in time, right?

That's how I took it, but with the derth of entrants I thought I'd risk a spanking from a Mod and put you in the poll.
One of the Mods (the very large weasel?) has already fixed things.

kenmoore 02-18-2015 01:03 AM

Aw, that's a shame .

I wanted to vote for Crux but I gave my vote to Moonster instead!

As I keep saying, I would like to see more bikes on here.

This is the source of inspiration where you see other peoples interpretations of the VTR and pic up ideas.

Mechanical or looks wise doesn't matter as long as it's something different.

Next month I would love to see a whole lot of bikes on here no matter what their state.

This post to me is an indication of the health of the site.

So many other forums I am on are dying a slow death and you can tell by the bike of the month posts.

Let's get this joint rockin!

Where do we draw the line kenmoore? Can I post up a pic of my old stock seat and exhaust and qualify it for VTROTM? Mori cams and belly pan? We need more than an engine and rear sets, or a few parts...

kenmoore 02-18-2015 09:44 AM

Yeah I know, but it was worth a vote for the funny factor.

CruxGNZ 02-18-2015 11:00 AM

No way, I would have got at least one vote? Awesome :p

How about we have March our project bike month? I know projects can be entered anytime, but maybe having one month would get a bunch of projects entered without fear of loosing out to a nice looking complete bike? This is the reason I never entered mine. Well that, and it looks like crap haha.

Definition of project bike...well, how about, doesn't need to be running, but you must have at least an engine, frame and wheels?

kenmoore 02-19-2015 12:39 AM

That's a great idea, I'm sure there would be a lot of guys on here with projects!

How about it Admin?

xeris 03-01-2015 07:13 AM

Congratulations to kenmoore winner of February's VTROM.
Thank you to all that entered and voted.

NZSpokes 03-01-2015 09:36 AM

Guess my bike didnt count then?

kenmoore 03-01-2015 11:38 AM

Every bike counts !

Wolverine 03-01-2015 02:56 PM

NZ, I have no explanation. I simply changed the option of Crux to MOONSTER. Post it up for March.
