Tapeworks Number Plates
3 Attachment(s)
So I added some number plates from tapeworks.com to my '03. It wasn't too bad. Used the wet method.
Let me know what you guys think! BTW, I just ordered Jardine slip-ons. I'll have some jetting questions soon. They still haven't arrived. Got a sweet deal from a-z powersellers. Check it out: |
Looks real nice. I have a red '98 and was throwing the idea around to put white numberplates there and by the headlight. Have you ever applied graphics before or was this the first time? They seem to have come out real well.
|
Looks like they came out nice, but don't let any real racers see, they'll give you a rash of shit for them being white.
|
Mine are silver.
I've never applied graphics before. It was a bit of a pain. Use the wet method, where you spray the back of the graphic with soapy water and you can slide it around a bunch until you get is in the right spot. As the water starts to evaporate, it gets sticky and you can start pushing the bubbles out with a credit or a rag or your thumb. Then you pull off the clear plastic protective film when you are done. |
DOH! Damn digital cameras...oh well I was just kidding with ya any way. They do look good though, nice job!
|
Thanks!
Hey, you look like a racer. You may know this. Do racers have prejudices against certain colors? I heard that green is bad luck. I also heard that red is bad luck and that they liked white. Any thoughts? |
Well thanks for the compliment but I'm just a wannabe racer track day junkie right now, should have my license before the end of the season though. I have heard about green from some but not red and I think it's just a rider by rider superstition thing, some people just have some strange superstitions. Oh and white is cheap so that may be why it's popular.

Valintino Rossi just called me. He said that blue M-1's are faster than yellow or white M-1's. I think he is right. Blue is faster.
But you never see dark green bikes or cars in a race. Which is ironic, considering it is called British Racing Green. |
I've seen a couple dark green cars in races before. There were all British cars though. Probably where "british racing green" comes from
