Superhawk Hooligan
I began racing flattrack 3 years ago. I decided that next year I will try out the hooligan class and what better bike than the superhawk. Haha, Ok maybe there are better bikes but I think it will be cool when it is done and maybe even functional. The basic rules are 1986 and newer, 650cc or larger multi cylinder engine, frame can not be modified, and the bike must have the engine that it was designed to have. So I can change the rear subframe, change the entire front end, and do anything to the engine. I will be working with a friend of mine and his company (Lowery Racing) to build the bike. I will try to keep this updated as the progress continues!

And now for something completely different! Makes me think of Kenny Roberts TZ750 @ the Indy Mile...at least a 100 years ago!

I got a chance to get the "Hooligan Hawk" on the scales before we start tear down. The low fuel light was on, so there was very little fuel in the tank. I am hoping to take a least 80lbs out of the bike by the time it is ready to hit the track next year.

If you google "Superhawk flat tracker" or "VTR1000 flat tracker" you'll immediately see at least one built with the stock frame. You also see the old SuperTrapp SuperTrackers bike in Cycle World, which was really cool though it obviously has a custom frame. Looking forward to seeing your progress. I was hoping to see a little more of you wringing out the stock bike around the track in your video haha.

I have read the articles about the supertracker. There is a tuner in Ohio that has a CJ frame and a couple of engines in pieces, that he said he would sell me. It is tempting but I can't take on another project right now. I am guessing the picture below is the stock frame bike you referenced. I could not find any info on it. It looks like it was on ebay in 2012.

I have not given up on the superhawk yet. I haven't even started. :D We have been busy finishing up the race season. Here is a picture from Sunday on the half mile of me showing what not to do!

Baby steps. I would like to say I will do more this weekend, but the weather is too nice. We are going riding!

Back from the dead! I got the Kreiger MCCT's installed and the carburetors rebuilt. In the picture I have the spare wheel off my 450 on the bike just to see what it will look like. The exhaust is literally just slipped on. Lots of work yet to do!
