My New Toy, Salvage Bike
Hi,
I'm new to this group and already have found a wealth of information. Bought this bike on Friday 3.20.2009 and can't wait to get her on the road! All the damage is is just the upper rear subframe and most everything else is in good to excellent shape. 2000 with 9600 miles.:D  Sorry you have to click the link couldn't get the pics up. http://s725.photobucket.com/albums/w...t=IMG_2003.jpg http://s725.photobucket.com/albums/w...t=IMG_2002.jpg http://i725.photobucket.com/albums/w...0/IMG_2003.jpg http://i725.photobucket.com/albums/w...0/IMG_2002.jpg |
Wow. Looks like whoever 'totaled' it out (adjuster) hit just enough check boxes on the damage report to do so. Mine looked significantly worse, but was only in the 'totaled' category by $500 or so. That thing looks pristine!

I think some adjusters get their rocks off with totaling bikes.
Mine had like 3K in damage this fall when I wrecked and the insurance said it was no where near being totaled. |
welcome to the group! what happened to the bike!?
|
That is a clean looking "totaled" bike. Congrats!

Looks clean, and so much like my bike I did a double take :D
If you are going to get an integrated taillight (blinkers in the taillight) I recommend adding additional blinkers to supplement them. I did this to mine as it really isn't clear which way you are signaling from more than 5 feet away when following. (I added small LED blinkers to the bottom of the passenger pegs) |
Not bad at all... shouldn't take too long to get her going. It doesn't take much to total a motor cycle. A small mark in the frame will add it to the list... plus the labor to R&R a frame..... = totaled.
