Just picked up this bargain off craigslist, its my first hawk thus why I am new to this forum. settled at 1800, runs perfect, what a steal! Has 30k on the ticker. Can't wait for warm weather!

So much sanding going on right now. Just keep discovering new stress cracks and layers. It is getting tiresome but its almost ready for filler. As soon as it starts to smooth out more primer or factory paint begins to chip off so we are pretty much sanding it down to nothing to make sure there are no problems down the road.

So the guy who was working on my paint job never finished it and screwed me over for a bunch of money so I painted it myself. Not perfect but totally presentable.

I still need to buff with polishing compound, should really bring out the shine.

The picture looks great. No need to deal with anybody else if your work's that nice. Just don't ride too close behind the Amish buggies.

I took it somewhere because i didn't trust my own work, i totally should have trusted myself to begin with. It really wasn't that hard once i got past all the terrible prep work.

Thanks, still more to do! Just installed new black levers. I need a new engine cover, seat cowl, a few other odds n ends.
