Hi.
New guy here, name's Lou. Just bought a '98 SH last night. The parts shopping has already started.

Parts shopping..what did you get? I know a guy for light weight flywheels, Coil on plug swaps, and Regulator Rectifier upgrade kits if your interested...LOL Are you going to keep it naked or put a fairing back on? |
Have to replace the really dim dirt bike headlight, going to put on an led headlight. I have a Puig flyscreen. Found a used fender on eBay, along with an integrated led tail light. I like the street fighter look, so that's the plan. It was interesting to ride home with no turn signals. Found out that the headlight was wired in to blinker circuit. Left signal turned off the headlight. Previous owner was not mechanically inclined.

Welcome Lou.

Welcome aboard Lou. Looks like you have a fun project to work on. What are you using for gauge cluster? I also went with a naked/streetfighter build with my hawk.

Guage cluster
I bought a Koso clone. Hopefully, I'll have that installed this weekend. My other bike is an '89 Nt650 with a very inaccurate speedo, so I've been using my phone with a GPS app on this bike, as well. If the snow disappears soon, I'll take some pics of what I've done so far. 7" led headlight, Puig flyscreen, electronic flasher unit, sequential led turn signals, led tail light, and bar-end mirrors. Oh, and a used fender plus a horn, because apparently the PO thought they were unnecessary.

Very nice!

Looks good, what's next?

Got new braided brake lines and new pads on this weekend. Next is a new rear tire. Maybe soon, a different speedo, the one I put on now has a crack in it that's spreading. Eventually it will need new paint and some dents filled.
