Well, I sold my Ducati F1 last week. I had it for 15 years, but haven't ridden it much in the last few years ever since I bought my Superhawk. I thought it would be nice to have one less bike in the garage, but less than a week later this one moved in :D.

Always lusted for a Ducati, but like the aspect of gorgeous Italian women, the prospect of maintenance intimidated me, so I went for the wall flower. I'm not unhappy, the sex life is a great little secret, the theft rate is low and nobody shows me a lot of tail light.

But still...I'm always going to wonder what if...

Did the Daytona Dance with my librarian of a motorcycle and was perfectly happy though. Perhaps someday something high class and Italian will enter my life.

Turbo lag? Sure, but good things come to those who wait...

I just got the Turbo to cruise around on. It's very comfortable & handles pretty good, but definitely not fast. My first V2 was actually a Moto Guzzi Le Mans III. Cool bike, but that factory seat was one of the worst ever made, it looked nice but didn't feel too good :eek:.

Very clean! The Honda mechanic I bought my first bike from in late '81 bought a CX500 Turbo as soon as they came out in '82. That's why he was selling his old bike, a '78 CX500 lightened up and modded for canyon racing, and painted solid black.

I got to ride the Turbo a few months later on a ride through the canyons above Malibu. We were above PCH on Decker when he asked if I wanted to ride the Turbo. I said "Hell yeah, but not till we get down onto PCH". So I rode it for several miles heading south on PCH from Decker. Very nice when the turbo spools up, and it still looks good today.

Oh, and valve adjustments are a piece of cake. 20 minutes max.

That thing is mad max cool. Nice find. I'd love to see how that turbo setup works.

There is one up here on craigslist right now.
It is a 650cc though. It looks as nice as this one with only 14k Miles.
He's asking $4500.00.
There are a couple of local guys that I ride with that can ride the wheels off these things. It is scary. It is amazing what a good rider can do even on that old of a bike. Anyone would be hard pressed to keep up with them. I don't even try. Corner speed just too hot for me for the street. I guess I'm just another "safe" street rider. I go fast here and there, do the occassional wheelie, but most of the time pretty sane. That's what happens when you have two little ones and the body takes longer to recover after injury. (getting older)

Yep, & I can adjust & lube the chain in under 10 seconds ;).

Yeah, I loved that feature with my CX, my 700 Nighthawk S and my BMW R100RS.:D

i have a cx 500 aswell. it used tobe my dads before he passed away. never getting rid of that ever....v twins rule

Damn. A 750F1! What year/model? Last of the pre-Cagiva Dukes. I lusted after them for years but could only find "bitza's". I owned a Paso for a bunch of years but realized I liked riding bikes better than working on Weber carbs so I bought a VTR.

It was an '88 S, & had Dell Ortos that worked without any problems. Looked like this

Nice. It's good to see it still has the original paint. The F1 in the picture is actually a 1986, one of 50 brought into the States. There were no '88's, all '87's were either Laguna Secas' or Santamonicas'. Dual exhaust right?

I think technically it was an '87, but the title said '88, & I forget what the frame tag said. In theory it would have had a dual exhaust, but almost every other one I have ever seen has had a 2 into 1 of some sort, including mine which had a great sounding Conti.
