The fruit of my labour...

Here is the end result of many years of OCMD, tinkering, experimenting, eBay purchases... Bike is now perfectly sorted (gas mileage is back up to over 18 km/L, throttle response is instant, power is wicked, handling is tight and predictable, braking is insane, and comfort and front end feedback are at all-time high thanks to bar swap). Nothing left to do now (except perhaps vinyl wrap the forks black at some point). Now, I can focus on riding... and enjoying

"Nothing left to do now"

I find that very hard to believe !

You must be proud of your efforts and commitment to your bike.

I can only imagine how well your bike rides.

I have only done one tenth of what you have done and I am very happy with mine.

Happy riding.

Oh how I'd love to ride with ya, and swap bikes. Very interested to feel what carbon wheels would do to the old girl. She's a mighty fine lookin' machine. Enjoy!

I already tried that... had two RC51 speedos in the past (one US, in mph, and one Canadian, Metric), but could never get the tach to work... so went back to stock

The pics d'ont really reveal the true nature of this motorcycle. The sound is awesome and the carbon wheels give it a lighter feeling just by looking at it. Throttle is clean and crisp, and just an all around great bike.

There are other esthetic goodies Mike has failed to show, that would have been seen with a pic from the other side, but I'll let him correct this wrong.

Great work bro.

front end is a mix of parts: 2005 ZX10r forks (re-valved and re-sprung; along with 2007 CBR600RR lower triple, custom Cognito Moto upper triple, Ti axle, Braketech CMC rotors (600RR) and Nissin monoblock calipers from a Daytona 675...)

I want the forks and brakes please !

I am in awe of this bike.

Please don't enter VTROM in Feb next year as I would have to vote for you.

Would love to hear it running under hard throttle on the road !

A "kind of" update:

During our ride last week, Jack Flash and I traded bikes for a bit, this now being the second bike I have tried this summer in addition to my own (the other being a pristine ZX-11 owned by buddy). When switching on to other bikes, or rather back onto mine, one is immediately struck by the lightness and quickness of it (and not just engine-wise). It feels like riding a 250 two-stroke enduro almost given the quickness of response to steering. It is certainly less "reassuring" compared to Jack's VTR and said ZX-11, the nervousness being a bit unsettling until you realise the bike will not do anything untoward. The engine too responds very quickly, though I was pleasantly surprised by the performance of JF's bike (strong and smooth, just less frantic). The brakes, too, are very immediate in their response. In other words, it is diametrically opposite to a cruiser... nothing lazy and mundane about the Carbon Express...

Anyhow, thought I would share that...... Love my bike, and its ability to make me smile grows every time I ride it....

Awesome job on the bike.
Sure you listed this somewhere but what forks and what did you do to them? Are they shorter thus putting the bike a bit on its nose thus quickening the handling?

Did you respring/ revalve them?

Inquiring minds want to know.
