A frenchie's VTR
5 Attachment(s)
Hello,
I'm french (excuse me for my awful english ...) I owned this bike for years but i just found some time to do a paint job (done with spray cans !!) and show it. Attachment 17195 Attachment 17194 Attachment 17193 A dyno test was offered this week end because i bought a set of tires so i did it unless it's a stock engine. Attachment 16793 Attachment 16794 Mod list i've done for now: - manual cct's (next week) - 19l tank with vfr fuel sensor and a xlv 1000 fuel tap (same thread as the new fuel tank) - tps @ 500Ohms - braided lines - 2001 cluster modded (I'm preparing a full customed 600 cbr cluster but it takes time ...) - black windshield - mirrors with leds - warning mod - some rizoma's parts for cosmetics For now I want a fully working bike just like a new one ! |
It looks very good for a spray can job. I like that color of red.

Nice spray bomb job!

Nice job. Are the mufflers standard or have they been debaffled?
100hp is always disappointing to see on a chart but luckilythe VTR feels stronger than that. |
Excellent spray can job!

Hello,
Thank's for your post replies. Concerning the paint job, I used a peugeot red lucifer (mokq .. i love that color  ) and 2k ( 2 components base and hardener) clearcoat spray cans that looks very glossy/shiny. It applies like the spraygun but you don't need all the tools. The best paint job i've ever done. Of course it isn't super perfect job but it's really satisfying since it has been done in my cave in only a week end. For the dyno test, i did it like a 'before' cleaning and tune my carbs. The engine, carbs and mufflers are stock. The only mod, for the moment, is a k&n air filter. |
Hello.
Just a message to show off the thing i'm working on ... just for fun, of course Not finished but fairly advanced. backlight and grafics are fully customizable. Then I will add some more features like turn-by-turn navigation directed by the phone ... See you soon ! |
Here is my week end mod ... warning installation.
made with 2 diodes (1N4007) and a modded vfr 800 handlebar control. Easy mod when you already left off the front fairings ... |
