A few mods...
hi folks. a few months ago i bought a superhawk, stock condition:
http://home.arcor.de/lumberjacker/vt0.JPG i went into my garage and did a few changes, as the bike was too boring for my belongings. so, hereīs the result of my homework: http://home.arcor.de/lumberjacker/vt1.JPG http://home.arcor.de/lumberjacker/vt2.JPG |
Nicely integrated work.
|
Wow I love that modded front fairing. And shortened exhaust looks awesome too. Very good work. You posted in the wrong section, though... this should be in the VTROTM July thread...
|
that is bad ass.. great job man that is an awesome way to make a SH look
|
Excellent work with the front fairing. You picked a very nice line for your cut.
|
I like the wheels. Carrozzi?
|
Wow! That's awesome. Did you just cut the original front fairing?
|
AWESOME front fairing hack!! The bike looks great (IMO) except for one thing... I don't like the hugger.
The rest of the bike is SWEET!!! |

The rest of the bike is SWEET!!! let me guess its not cool to have a huger at the track huh? |
Effin sweet man, what kind exhaust is that? Must have cost a pretty penny for all that loot.
|
Which wheels are those?
|
Nicely done!!!
|
hi. well, customizing the bike wasnīt that expensive as selling the stock parts brought more money than i had to spend for new parts.
the fairing is a replica for race-use i īve cutted and modified. headlight is a pair of 38mm lenses, roadlegal. rearend is a one-off stainless subframe, platic is an universal moto-guzzi i modified to fit the vtr. wheels are galespeed, 3,5x17 front, rear 6x17. exhaust is a pair of ixil supershorties, road-legal. rearset comes from RRT. frontend is stock, fitted an adapter with a straight bar for better handling and more comfort. as i ride at bad weather, too, i mounted the hugger. the bike is an everyday-driver. |
You should be proud Zilla. The more I look @ your Hawk (storm - where ya located?) the more I like it. Effin' bad-ass VTR!!!!! Those wheels are awesome!
How bout some more pics & some close ups?? |
Wow, Just wow.
|
a few more pix:
universal cheapo tail, usually fits old moto-guzzis, had to be modified a lot, and of course didnīt fit the stock subframe: http://home.arcor.de/lumberjacker/v05.JPG new subframe: http://home.arcor.de/lumberjacker/v04.JPG repro-fairing, ready to me modified: http://home.arcor.de/lumberjacker/v06.JPG rear turn-signals with integrated brake- and running-lights: http://home.arcor.de/lumberjacker/v07.JPG front-view: http://home.arcor.de/lumberjacker/v08.JPG paint-job: http://home.arcor.de/lumberjacker/v09.JPG http://home.arcor.de/lumberjacker/v10.JPG mirrors, turn-signals integrated: http://home.arcor.de/lumberjacker/v11.JPG |
this bike is awesome... Very nice work... love the fairings, Ive thought about doing something like that to mine but havent had the balls yet to cut into my fairings
Did you do the airbrushing yourself? how much did the wheels/mirrors/rearsets run you if you dont mind me asking and where did you get them? |
Beautiful work!
|
Very nice! I love the paintwork.
|
nice work!
|
Good looking bike.
Though all that work and no suspension work? Though that is just me... Also I personally would have a hard time using a mirror called a "Highsider"..... once again, that is just me..... ;) One question though, why did you move the battery to the tail section? |
Very nice job. I love the tail and fairing.
|
no, airbrush hasnīt been my job. if i had done it, it would look like this :D :
http://home.arcor.de/lumberjacker/vtrcol.JPG suspension isnīt untouched. fork is modified and a bitubo-shock keeps the rear-tyre on the ground. i donīt give a sh1t on mirros name. i would even ride it if it would be called "helter-skelter-super-evil-desaster-pilotkiller-badass-neuralizer-accidenter". ;-) |

Great job!

today i did two more mods. first, i changed transmission ration from 16/41 to 15/43 - and love it.
i also spent some time on the front brakes. stock performance is very, very poor. stock setup, before: http://home.arcor.de/lumberjacker/vtrb1.jpg i bought a pair of cbr 600 rr calipers. i also spent some time on the rotors. i removed the rigid floaters and replaced them by flexible micron race-floaters: http://home.arcor.de/lumberjacker/vtrb2.jpg ebc-hh brakepads finished the package. mods work great, brake-performance is extremely improved, worth every cent. |
So, do you like the look of the gold calipers vs. the black? The mod is definitely worth while, but I liked black. How much did you spend in those?
