Stops scratches, paint fading and general wear and tear. Just take it off now and then to prevent moisture building up ( I wash & wax the tank thoroughly once in a while) and careful how you strap it on around the headstock - as it can interfere with the sterring slightly. Or secure underneath the tank mout tab. Plus the Bagster tank bags clip easily and securely on... http://cl.ly/0P2P3b0A1Y3B/vtr-bagster-baglux.jpg http://cl.ly/2S3z38253P3R/vtr-baglux-bagster-3.jpg |
My experience with these is that fine dust gets under it, acting as sandpaper and dulling then scratching the paint.
I have used them to hide damaged tanks but wouldn't use it on a nice tank unless the color of the tank was wrong for the bike and I didn't care. YMMV |
No such problem here - The baglux vinyl tank cover is secured on the tank at the headstock and a pair of elasticated hooks to the botton seams sides - covering the entire visibble top of the tank. Tank remains shiney like new.
May be more a problem with the half-cup US style tank covers. https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.sup...a7f13942ce.jpg |
That tank cover, I'm thinking of rugby. Not that I know anything about rugby.
