Wasn't me, I was spending more time in pride of ownership than riding that day. I feel spoiled. The weather has been incredible!

Hey I haven't been on the site for awhile. I just now got your message. Thanks for the complements. The tail section was that way when I got the bike. But knowing what I do about the pervious owner and being a cheap ass I'd imagine it probably came from ebay. I've got a pretty busy summer coming up but I'm always up for a ride if I can get away. Give me a shout if you want to go for a ride. But give me a few days head notice.

thanks, I had looked, nothing quite in decent shape enough to justify the asking price. That being said my repairs so far have come out really well. Will be posting picts in the repair thread soon.

Yeah, those 250 Honda's are a blast to ride. I had fun when I went thru the program. Well if you found a hawk thats awesome... Atleast you have the winter to do any upgrades to the bike since I forsee the weather not holding out much longer. I need new tires on mine so i am done. I think I am going to start tearing it down for the annual cleaning. I am going to replace all the wheel and steering stem bearings and Chain and sproket kit and other routine maintenance.

Thanks for the advice Squid. I am definitely going to check out the refresher course.
I went to the dealership in Monroe to buy their Blue 03 with 11K miles and a salvage motor. This was the first bike I rode when I decided to get back on 2 wheels. The engine felt strong but I had qualms about its salvage origin. It could have had 5 miles or 50,000, who knows? After a month of looking at rustbuckets, scratched-up project bikes, and other crap, I just said f*** it, I'll buy the Monroe bike.
When I got there Tuesday, it was sold. That's what I get for being too cautious. The dealer is trying to pressure me into a 06 SV1000S with a lot of extras. But it also has a wickedly rough low end on it. Word on the SV Portal site is that the cheap innards in the outsourced slipper clutch loosen and vibrate madly. I think I'll pass on it.

Robert, I am not sure how you are / were going about your licence, but IF you still dont have it I would use the MSF courses. They are great and its a 2 day expericanse of learning. I liked it. Now, where your bike? Have you picked one out or found one?

I'm still looking for my Hawk. I've wanted one since Honda started building them.
I came to the Forum to learn more about the bike.
