Race Tech Fork mod info

I found this site when looking for info on installing Race Tech springs and gold valves.
I hope you find it useful.
(My R/T gold compression valve did not come with instructions)

Here's another I've studied:

http://darladog.com/forks/

Between these two good write ups, you should be more than able to handle a fork valve job yourself.

thanks for the info. I'm doing the revalve this weekend. It's nice to see the compression valve in advance.

Broken link :-(
Do you have it saved?

Was going to give it to a new SH owner to help him do his forks

Here's another really good link. http://www.vfrdiscussion.com/forum/i...showtopic=9493 VFR forks are pretty much the same as ours.

Any chance someone come across a valve install for RC51 forks??? Seems like all the RC guys pay to get their stuff done... What fun is that???

The valves are super accessable, but just curious is there is any trickery... always like to learn form someone else first... before I screw it up!!!

J.

BTW... anyone whom is doing the RC fork thing... the valves from Race Tech are listed a the same part number as the VTR... so I'm hoping just to swap things over with a new stack provided the hole I drilled in the valve is compatible.

Since the RC51 forks are USD the cartridge comes out as one assembly with the springs and caps. You will need a fork spring compressor to do this. That may be why many folks pay someone to do the work.

PS I don't know if you'll consider it, but if you want to take a drive up to Saratoga Springs I'll do the work for you for pretty cheap and teach you a few things about your forks. PM me if interested.
