Coming Soon...........The ASS BUSTER II

I am currently planning "The AssBuster II" so far, It looks to be another 400 mile ride, this time out through the mountains of NorthEastern PA. Looking to gauge what interest, if any, there is out there from you guys. I am looking at a Mid July-early August date. Depending who whats in and when they can go, I figure a date when the most participants can go, and then a rain date. Post up if interested. This will consist of Northern NJ and North Eastern PA.

SPRHK 06-22-2010 12:59 PM

For those who fear the NJ Police, the ride consists of about 2 miles of NJ, all the rest are PA. LOL.

25th doesn't work. I'm about 3 hours away so I would have probably haul the bike then stay in a motel. Still stewing this w/ my wife as this would be the first overnighter I've done.

How many bikes are in so far?
Do you have any lodging close?

dcohawk01 07-18-2010 04:18 AM

I really hate that I will miss this . I will be relocating to central PA in a few months. It would be so cool to ride with a gaggle of superhawks. I'll catch you guys next time.

I am guesstimating between 20-25 riders. We hold a fun responsible ride, and all rider levels are welcome. No one is ever expected to ride over their comfort level.
I will look into local affordable lodging and post up. Hope you make it!

Just a little more info:
Pace: moderate to quick
we usually run speed limit +5-10. There will be some higher speed blasts, but we take into consideration all rider skill levels and never leave anyone behind. We also ask tthat you DO NOT ride over your skill level.

Tow vehicle: NONE. If you think you need one, bring your own
Have an emergency back up plan in place. Heavens forbid something happens, make sure you have a cell phone and someone to contact to pick you up in event of a break down or what not. I cant hold up the entire ride because you didnt check your bike over or take care of any maintennce issue beforehand. we will stop and make sure you are set, but after that, you are on your own.

This is a fun ride.Great commradery and lots of laughs.

Hope to see you out there!

IMPORTANT UPDATE:

Weather is currently calluing for 50% chance of rain tomorrow and 60% chance tomorrow evening. In the % does not reduce, I will be postponing until the rain date, Aug 15th. I will make the call this evening. HOWEVER, if it is not raining in the morning, I will still be going for a ride with the same meet spot and time. Feel free to join up with me if so.

Funny Thing. I did my 400+- "Assbuster" the beginning of july during that nasty heat wave. Our ride took us to that same spot where your ride touches NJ. We came up 97(Hawks Nest) then up to Deposit then on to Cooperstown, West Winfield, accross to east side of Hudson River and back south to Yorktown. The best part (besides the ride) was stopping and swimming in the Delaware and Esopus rivers. My ass didn't feel busted until the last hour or so. Stock seat.

The other best part was the 3 family Feast we had in Deposit at a friends "farm" on the 4th. I sent him up with 12 3" Dry Aged Prime Porterhouse and T-Bones and a case of killer wines. They didn't suck.
this was a two day excursion. No drinking and driving.... anymore. Ever again.

At this time, thing s are looking really good. Only a slight chance of a passing thunderstorm now. The game plan is, if it isnt raining in the AM, we are rolling........

SPRHK 08-14-2010 01:47 PM

Tomorrow is the big day............anyone gonna man up? No?

Wolverine 08-17-2010 06:01 AM

I had a ride planned already for the 15th. The local region on ST.N met in Carlisle. I did 309 miles and my ass had enough!! Left @ 9am, stopped for gas 3 times and skipped lunch. Then home by 5:30.

So, how was you ride? Do you have any pics? Ours started out wet, then slowly dried up. I think there were about 45 bikes, not all on the same exact route.
