will these work? (ebay sliders)
ever since i layed mine down ive been looking for sliders.
found these on ebay, wondering if they will work http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Honda...Q5fAccessories and has anyone used them, with or without good luck? |
They're the exact same ones I have. Thankfully, I have never had to put them to the test....
|
Those are T-Rex sliders, or at least copies of them.
http://t-rex-racing.com/catalog.php?item=39 They work great. (the originals at least have saved me lots of $ on my bike) |
anyone got any pics of how they bolt on?

I went with the original T-Rex sliders. Top-notch quality!
|
alrighty cool, i still got a few days. may pick them up. thanks guys

t-rex appears to be out of VTR sliders, see their web site. I asked the ebay t-rex seller and she asked me to try back in 4 weeks.
The copies look ok, they only need to work once, ask me how I know. |
is this where i bolt these sliders. do they just screw into the hole on the middle of this bolt and nut thingy

That "bolt and nut thingy" is one of your engine mount bolts. The sliders will come with bolts that replace those and hold the slider brackets on.
|
Lmao. Well, I'm pulling my frame sliders off since I don't like how they look (some pale yellow color) and one of them is bent...
So I need a to order a set of stock "bolt and nut thingys." All I should need is the bolts right? |
They might have washers with them too, just check ronayers.com or servicehonda.com parts books.
|
And be careful not to torque too hard on the "thingy". I stripped the hole out without too much torquing.
|
I didn't like that the T rex were in my way so i ground off some of the underside with a bench grinder so that i could rotate them froward about 45 degrees and now i often push my knee against in turns. I do have padded knees though.

I have these exact sliders.
Although I fortunately have not tried them out, I will say that the bolts that come with them developed rusted heads after about 8 weeks, and I don't ride in the rain. Not real high quality, at least the bolts. They may be just fine if you paint them prior to installation. I replaced the bolts with stainless allen head from the local hardware store. Done deal. |
