Went for a spirited ride over some close by mountain roads.

The front end and brakes just get better and better. I can now accelerate in places wher I used to have to back off.

Back tyre is now almost right to the edge , only a bees dick in it.

Testimony to the influence of the new setup.

Brought it home from the shop. Nice, spirited blast home. The fork height change was subtle but did reduce the high speed wobble, not gone though.

And, you entered it in VTROTM, IT_Mike. You're new around here, so you don't understand what a huge accomplishment that is.

got the cf tank sanded and filled in the voids. she dont look good but a coat of paint willl solve it. building the bottom tomorrow.

What you cant see is where I went at it with a dull beaver to cut the old tire off. I never tried before so it was fun. Dont do it. use a car jack as I did with my rear.
p { margin-bottom: 0.1in; line-height: 120%; }

BTW Eric that sprocket finally started sh... theeth. A lot at once. I ordered another cant wait for a tire or sprock so another aluminum one is all I got. I did however also dig the rim outta the attic!

Fired it up, the first time it was leaking gas from the front carb as I had the float bowl gasket messed up. Fixed that and fired it back up and balanced the carbs. Starts and idles like a champ now!

I like it.

Pan mold is done. Sure dunno if my cf tank is much lighter...

Ordered lotsa goodies.

Enjoyed a stall free, surge free ride to work. She still chuffs just a bit at part throttle but that's all In my thread.

Anyone seen crux?

Sprocket went to 41t. Ordered tires. Checked fitment for the RR rim as its going on next week. Cleaned it up and cut the mold down for the carbon tank build.

Is it stock!? It feels so good. It actually responds sharp and idles good thanks to you. 1 tooth is a big difference in first and second.

I didnt want to start a new theread for this. I tried to lean past my comfort zone today and things were fine till the back wheel started to slide out. It is worn but not on the sides. Its a 190 and I always have chicken strips 3/4 of an inch. I have to ride home in dress pants so I wont be trying that again till I get rider pants with pads and sliders.

But WTF. Am I just that bad at riding the bike. I never come close to feeling the need to lean more. I feel like shes always at max and today proved it. Its gotta be me or the stock suspension or... old tires. over 5 years old on the rear.

Road was cold. Its the only corner with any bank to it going up hill. She made a large audible sliding sound and I rolled off a hair while shifting my weight back. *** on seat head into the curve. Any long winded advice pm me. I plan on hitting riding school next month.

16\41 is stock. Also some of the issues you are having could be caused by running a 190 rear tire. The bike is set up for a 180.
If you run a 190 that is not compatible with a 5.5" rim you can have odd handling issues.

Well I am going to do the RR rim and a new pilot same size. So that should do it. I'll see if I put knee down or I lay my new exhaust all over the street.
Thanks man.

I started the bodywork on my lower. I epoxy bonded fender washers on the inside of the glass to prevent spiderweb cracks from forming when it's fastened down. I then sanded it down to the base primer/gel coat as the old paint was crap and not a good base for a fresh spray job. I then skim coated the whole thing in Bondo so I could sand it out to a flat surface. Unfortunately my allergies are in full attack mode, so no sanding today...

Cold road and cold tires could do a slide. Also if its unused rubber at the edges that's the coldest crudiest part of the tire. You should increase lean angle slowly and in steps. Scrubbing it in little at a time.

I've been running 190s for years with no issues in corner grip.

Today I found my long lost header mounting pipes and flanges for an Akrapovic full exhaust. Bought (evil man of nothing) the exhaust well over a year ago. Thought I had inadvertently thrown them out.
Made my day.

You will really like that system once you get it mounted. Though I did need to rejet after I installed mine...... just means it actually works...

Now you just need to track down some of the HRC stickers for the cans....

Thanks, that's good to hear. I feel very fortunate to have been able to secure a set. Non of the parts that are important are available any more.

Did HRC use Akrapovic for their exhaust system?

Hoping that with the Flo-Commander and the elevation I'm at I'll be good, and maybe get back a bit of the power lost to altitude.
