I went and did it.... This superhawk was my very first street bike and I've had her for over 3yrs now... I've been riding around this whole time without the M1 endorsment so today I went down to the local DMV and took the plunge....... I am now officially a licensed motorcycle rider........ Please don't think bad of me for riding without an endorsment but I just couldn't stand it,, once I took her out for the first time I was hooked..... I just couldn't help myself,,, I was addicted from day one.......

How on earth did you make it three years without getting pulled over...? :)

Ahh the motorola coefficient is only an issue on a highway without any exits.

California didn't even have a motorcycle endorsement until the early '70s. I think it was '72. My best buddy worked for a Honda dealer, and everyone at the dealership had to get the endorsement.

I started riding in 1964, one time with a rental then riding friends bikes when possible. But I didn't own a bike until 1981. That's when I got my M1.

I knocked on every stick of wood from the house to the bike and even my hard head a time or two whenever I went out for a ride :) but those days are all behind me now..... :cool:

Suzuki 60cc (I think) 2 strokes for $5/hour. We rode them in shorts, T-shirts and sneakers with no socks...what's a helmet.:eek: Flat out, leaning over the tank at 55 mph.

I've always been amazed what I got away with.

Keep it cool and ride smart. Speed limits are for cars.

Word to that- in my short time riding I've gotten away with stuff I shouldn't have and been pulled over for weird things. Not a ticket yet, I think they are just checkin up on me to make sure I know I'm on a motorcycle and it's different from a car!

Livin' in Cali, speed limits are relative and under 80mph is rarely admonished. I tend to maintain 10-20+ over traffic and also ride late night/early morn when there is no traffic... 80-90 is a general rule and when no body is looking... I open it up so as not to invite speedtrappers, since I'll be gone before they can even get up to speed! I'm not ignorant... my day will come.
