vtr1000 Insurance... What do you pay?
 

Hi, trying to get a general feel for how much people are paying for insurance. I know there are TONS of factors... I am just curious as to what you are paying.

Like to know... Bike year. State insured in. Full or basic coverage.

I just got a quote in CA for just over 600$....... Hummmmmmm.....

I pay $106 per year (progressive). Full coverage w/ additional $3000 in accessory coverage. 43yr old, married w/ 2 kids own my home...
2000 VTR

Don't remember exactly, but it's less than $150/yr w/Allstate, full coverage, Illinois, 48, married, kids, own home, multiple vehicles, though I don't know if the other cars, trucks, etc play into the moto insurance.

124 a year. 33 single male (for now). Full coverage with accessory coverage, road side service in and out of state. Progressive auto insurance on my 98. Single vehicle on the policy and I rent my home. Oklahoma.

Thanks! BTW, "Nadacop" was my C.B handle back in the day... I drove a 1980 x-state police car. I still have the original CA front plate that reads "NADACOP". She had the orig spotlights and antenna mount. I also still have the orig red spotlight bulb... (cool shelf fodder)... Anyway, my handle stuck around long enough to become my screen name while the internet was taking off...

I pay around $200 for full coverage on my 2000 with Progressive in Wisconsin. Single male, 21, clean record/no claims, bundled with renters insurance

Nadacop is something all undercover cops say hahaha .

To get back on subject I checked with all state and farmers and they were about 10 bucks higher for the same coverage.

I'll add my $.02 worth but I doubt it is helpful.
Progressive, three riders on policy, Me male 50, wife 49, Son 23.
Three bikes, 1998 VTR, 2007 Ninja 650R, DRZ485 SM
Full coverage, 500 deductible for both comp and collision. All custom and add on accessories and MODs I have receipts for are covered as well.

$285 per year

I have Progressive.
Oregon, 1983 VF750F, 1999 VTR1000F, NOT full coverage, 56 year old male, 37 years experience. I pay about $145 per year about the same rate for each bike. I had them quote a 2002 blackbird and it will only add $80 to my bill.

It seems after talking with newer riders that years riding "licensed" makes the most difference.

I HATE/love living in California! I don't understand why things are made to be so much more expensive out this way...

Okay... I don't know where that agent came up with 600$ for a CA policy except that she must of quoted for maximums!!!
I just took the long route and ended up with Progressive for 204$ pretty basic, roadside on the vtr1000f... a little different write up for the vf700f...

YES. I am stating that I now have TWO BIKES covered for that 204$ !!!!!

WOOOHOOO!!!! Now I get to pay dmv tons of cash so I can register my new verrroom verrroom!!!

Glad you got some agreeable insurance rates, Which DMV will you go to?
I heard you can just drop by any AAA office (members) for basic DMV stuff although I have never tried it.

I pay $90 a year for a 99 Superhawk and a 91 PC800. I could pay less, but have pretty high liability limits.

I'll just go to the closest DMV. Only one option within a 45 min drive!! As per the Iron Door... Fancy that, I bartend there Friday days..........!

I heard a long time ago that Sonora DMV was a (comparative) breeze.
