I have a Cycle World somewhere that has a really nice one he even kept but modified the frame. I'll see if I can find it in the back issue vault a.k.a. library a.k.a. bathroom.

Don't know about past projects like this, but I have a ton of used VTR parts (including a motor) that I could sell you, if you are in need of them.

Here I was expecting to see them actually working on the bike, trying to make a chopper out of it. Not exactly. I listened to the chatter about 5 times and I still can't understand exactly what the hell they are talking about. Was it just me or did that guy call his VTR a "shitty bike" earlier in the vid?

And how come the VTR gets totalled in every accident they show?

The Cycle World article was part of the American Flyers segment they did in 2002 - that bike was sweet. I believe it was the Feb issue. I remember because it helped me finalize my decison to buy the SH. I'll see if I can find it.

They made a new steering head out of billet re-welded it and aftermarket triples with more offset. Read the article it's interesting even if you don't like it.

Re: VTR Chopper / Bobber

It was in the April 2004 Cycle World

On the home page for 13 choppers - left side about half way down is a media link with all the writeups on them.
