the smaller diameter hose that is going right up the gas tank, the one that has a hole in it, i believe is the breather hose. correct me if im wrong. is there a reliable way to repair this, or do i have to replace the hose?

Your right, You could just cut that part off...My breather hose is about 3 feet long, and it goes to the front of the bike, is this correct for you?

Yeah it's the breather tube. That close you could just cut it south of the hole and stick it back on, or replacing it couldn't cost more than a couple of dollars.

Duct tape....but like said above, vacuum hose is cheap.

one more question. where the hose fits onto the bottom of the tank, should there be a clamp of some sorts? ive got plenty of extra clamps, so i it would be a problem tossing one on there, but is it necessary?

VTRsurfer 02-09-2009 08:37 PM

No clamp required. It doesn't carry liquid fuel unless you overfill.
