Turbo trackday trial

Well after 2000 km of road test, I tried the thing on the track, it definitely likes it, so does the owner :D
The turbo was totally useless on a tight track, except for 2-3 spots where I got to boost, the response is immediate and not annoying, the exhaust re-routing is just nice, the extra clearance gives me peace of mind. I'm still burning that BT-21 on the back, but got a BT-16 this year at the front, I have lost the back many times, it just felt progressive, not like a total loss of grip. Got new Joe Rocket leathers for 100 $, a good buy if you recall my crappy last year setup. I will dyno the bike soon, mostly to fine tune the ignition, I figured that I'm putting down about 130 hp for now and burning fuel for 150, but I'm scared to detonnate the engine to death by butt tune this part, so I'm seeking a cheap dyno for accurate measurements. I want to swap forks, brakes this winter, I will read more on what the forks gurus have done here. If I ever tear into the engine, I'll weld reinforcements on the frame, this is too soft, sounds like more garage fun  Track pics now Attachment 28637 Attachment 28638 Attachment 28639 Attachment 28640Attachment 28641 |
Wow! Great pics. Its so amazing to see something like that go around the track. Good to see that its not just going to be a dyno queen. Does it feel any heavier with the extra parts on turn in's and braking?

Not really, the weight is centered and the heavy stock exhaust system removed compensate a lot for the added weight, that makes me think to hit the scale, that would answer the question precisely.
Everything I build is meant to be abused, otherwise how would I know if it works properly :D |
looks great, can't wait to see a video and dyno results
