TPS mod questions

Hey everyone - here goes my stupid question for the day: On this site, it says to adjust the TPS so resistance is set at 500 ohms, +/- 10 ohms, as measured at the sensor, and I'm assuming with the engine off and throttle closed? In the factory manual, it is measured at the ICM and spec is between 4 - 6 k ohms (4000 to 6000 ohms). Then, if REPLACING the TPS, you adjust it to 500 ohms, +/- 10ohms. On Greg Nemish's site (It appears he is pretty smart and knows what he is talking about) it says the resistance should be 430 to 440 ohms, measured at the TPS, with engine off and throttle closed. Mine is currently set at 433. Does anyone know the reason for difference between Greg's spec and the one listed on this site and in the Honda manual? The fact that mine was factory set to Greg's spec seems to validate his numbers? Also, why does the factory manual tell you to simply check the measurement at the ICM, and allows the spec to be anywhere between 4 and 6 thousand? I just don't want to fix something that isn't broken, as usually that results in me breaking something else. Thanks

Not fixing what is not broken, as well as differences in the values you have mentioned, has stopped me from even thinking about this mod.

You are not the only one who is confused.

I don't think I will do this mod anyway, even if I knew the exact value/etc. The bike is running good enough for my liking now.
