test rode my first hawk..throttle issues

it was an 01 with 6k miles on it. cosmetically it looked great. needed an oil change and all that other routine stuff. i was concerned with the throttle though. it was sticking a lot. id roll it back and it was just stay open. the guys like 5'8 i think and adjusted the suspension so i felt really cramped.. but thats not a big deal. the throttle sticking did worry me though. i took it for a spin. at a red light (in neutral) i gave it gas and it stuck. do you guys think i should buy this bike? i told him id think about it.

It would be an easy fix if the price is right.

3500 obo.. whats the easy fix?

Pull the carbs, clean them, lube the cables and you're done. Check that the throttle grip isn't pushed too far on the bar to cause interference. Easy stuff, just takes a little time.

it may be sticking because of the fuel line on the left side of the bike.
it touches the arm that goes from the back carb to the front.i had the same issue.zip tie it.

There is supposed to be a clip on the frame that the fuel line should run through to prevent this from happening.

A couple weeks ago I paid $3,500 for a 2002 with just over 4K miles on the clock. Recently I've seen 4 other local offers on Craigslist for low mileage Superhawks. They are all about in that price range give or take a couple hundred.

They do tend to get broken pretty easy. I've had to replace mine once also.
