Tail Section Mods - Any Ideas

THis is sorta a repeat and a whole new question..... In Jan I asked If anyone remembered a thread about modifying an RC51 tail/subframe/seat to fit on the SH, and I got a reply, but since then, when I tried to go to that link, because of the new change over, I can't seem to get to it, SO, anyone know about that thread? ALSO, has anyone done any type of other tail seat subframe mods.... I kinda think the stock the SH tail is sorta porky, and want to replace the whole thing with something a bit slimmer but mainly with a true SOLO seat.... I think I might get the Mario Nava subframe and put on all my own R1 parts, since I wanna keep my dual sided exhausts..... Any ideas?

The one I recall was done in a US Marine color scheme. He had an rc subframe/plastic. I checked into measurements and they aren't real close. You definitely need welding and/or brackets made.

A VTR solo track unit or Mario Nava rear are easy routes.

I added a VFR seat and seat cowl to the VTR tail to better match my VFR tank. I had to relocate the latch and some other details but it fit rather well. Not exactly the same thing as what you pursuing tho'.

Thanks for all the help... but unfortunately, for what ever reason, when I go to the link that was posted in response to my question in the past, all it does is direct me to the main forum page with all the separate forums....not to the actual thread.... SO, I am still unable to get to that orig thread created whenever....

Any thoughts on where I can find any track pieces? I haven't found any.... and I really don't like the look of the Mario Nava stock subframe SH solo seat.... BUT I love the look of his custom R1 (2005) solo seat that he fabs up on a special subframe to fit the SH, with all the extra goodies also available... Thanks again for all the ideas!!

There are some options out there IF money is no object that is. www.thurn-motorsport.de is one also www.sharkskinz.com is another and I think there are a few others as well.

That's odd, because when I click on the link I posted it comes up with the thread you started on 1-4-06 in which you ask:

"I thought I saw here how someone converted an RC51 tail/seat to their SH, but no matter what key words I use in the search box, I cannot seem to find the thread...... Anyone have a lead on the thread or can advise how I can do this conversion....."
