Very nice.

AngryOlaf 10-26-2009 11:03 PM

I give up... he wins. :p

Tweety 10-27-2009 02:32 AM

Ok... I can do a powerslide... Not even close to as nice as this though... But what reallly impresses me is the sheer fact that on several of these you see him clicking the shifter down which should indicate he is going up a gear or in some cases two while still sliding the rear on corner exit... And he is doing it with a rather gnarly ducati V4 and a rear tire made out of glue hooked up to a computer that is supposed to kill all such tendencies... In full control... Dayum...

cnw126 10-27-2009 03:04 AM

He ain't a World Champ for nothing!

stebbdt 10-27-2009 03:22 AM

Now thats a sick boy, I can powerslide just like that, in the dirt.. well, almost like that, same method, stay on the juice, if the s%*T hits the fan, more juice.. haha

Moto Man 10-27-2009 11:35 AM

Dorna already killed the video. Anyhow I saw the race and dropped my jaw at the powerslides he was laying down in the home race. Now that Stoner has cured what ailed him, I think he is going to be "The One" to catch from here on out.

PJay 10-27-2009 09:30 PM

V Rossi esq wasn't doing too badly on controlled slides himself: a Stoner and Rossi duet in motion.

That traction control's pretty cool. (Do I hear someone say, "Stoner doesn't have it on the Ducati"? Yeah, right...)

RK1 10-27-2009 10:07 PM

I enjoyed the clip while it lasted, with the sound turned off of course. Why folks insist on deleting the beautiful music made by race bikes and replacing with the so called "music" of teenage/early twenties "artists" is beyond me.

And PJay is right (as usual). Rossi's drifting is 99% as impressive as Casey's. Unfortunately for Signore Rossi, 99% is good for second place if your lucky and third if you're not.

And that clip is proof positive that Kenny Senior changed the sport of road racing forever, and for the better.

Oh he's got it alright... It's just setup for him in a way a road bike can never ever be...

I have never understood the music thing myself either... Why ruin it?

Rossi is more than capable of sliding that bike as good as Stoner... But he isn't doing it... Not the goal of the execise...;) He's beggining to be the sensible old man on track... Boooring...:rotf:

Tweety 10-28-2009 04:51 AM

BTW anybody watch the next round in Malaysia? (I think it was there?) Where Stoner went on cruise control in the rain and beat the rest to where it was embarrasing...

VTRsurfer 10-28-2009 07:39 AM

Yes, it was an incredible race for Stoner. I think he had a 17 second lead on Pedrosa in the last lap, with Rossi well behind Pedrosa.

Rossi obviously didn't want to push it since he only needed to finish 4th or better for the Championship. Nobody else was in the camera frame behind when Rossi crossed the finish line in 3rd. It was quite wet.

There is that vid of Kiyonari going bananas in the downpour.

Didn't mean to suggest that Stoner was instructing Rossi on how to drift a race bike!:p

Really? Thanks for the update, no wonder I am so late for all my appointments:rolleyes:.

He is still a MotoGp world champion.

I was just pointing out that as a world champ he can do that sort of thing. Sorry if I confused you:p.

I don't know about that. He's 64 points behind Rossi right now.

Tweety 10-30-2009 10:53 AM

Well... It's mathematicly impossible in 2009... But there is nothing saying he can't do it for next season...;)

I wan't to see a couple of more guys challenging for the top though... This year it's mostly been the two yams and Stoner and Pedrosa racing and the rest filling up the grid...

Like Edwards said... "I'm the best of the rest" about his many no 5 finishes...

It's over for this year. Rossi already won the title. I was talking about the future.

cnw126 10-30-2009 12:57 PM

In any new season anything is possible.

I am sure the true contenders for the 2010 title will be Rossi, Lorenzo, Stoner, and Pedrosa.

Of course some one can always step up their game, and one of the 4 previously mentioned can have problems. No one can say who will be next years champ. That is why they race.

Just to clarify my previous post. Once you win a world title you are always a world champion. You may not be the current world champ but you are still a world champion, and always will be.

I wonder how competitive new engine rules or Yamaha will allow or help the Tech3 team to become next year? We might see Edwards and Spies in the mix for podiums ore often. Also don't forget Dovi and maybe even Nicky if he can get the bike dialed in during the off season testing.

Should be interesting. I just hope that it affects everyone the same and that one manufacturer does not come across the magic formula of durability vs horsepower and clean up.

Again, anything can happen. Who knows, Bautista might clean up on the Suzuki;)! Doubtful but possible.
