Just wondering what's the shortest lifespan for a voltage regulator/rectifyer any of you have had.... I am on my 2nd one, which has only lasted about 1200 miles, and seems to be going... I gotta test it and the battery to see why my battery can't seem to hold a charge.... Just like the thread a few days ago...... I not sure how many miles were on the one, when I got my bike used at 18,000 miles, when it went out.....

 

If you do need to replace it again go with an '02 or later VTR unit with the cooling fins or go with one from another bike - do a search for recommendations. If your battery has issues it will ceratinly puit more strain on the already weak designed r/r.
