Shock becomes shocking
 

So on my ride over the Manhattan bridge I get a sensation that feels almost like a flat tire.
I could feel all the tiny irregularities of the road like I was on the rim. (this is a bad place for this to happen).

I had my wife on the back so I ease off the gas $ go slow til I am in Manhattan. I look but the tire is fine. Turn out the shock lost all damping(at least that is my diagnosis).

It was an old penske shock I got on ebay & unwisely didnt have rebuilt before installing. Now I guess I am back to the stocker til the next race wknd when I can have it rebuilt.

That is a bad place for any problems to happen. Did you remove it to confirm your suspicion? If you want, I'll take it off your hands. That way it won't give you any more problems.:D:D

Anyway havent yanked it yet but somewhere on here someone had a story of the penske collapsing to leave him with a low rider. I was concerned about this so called off the whole night out to limp it back to Brooklyn.

A low rider?? That would have to mean spring failure.
