Scrape in sidewall

Just got a new rear tire installed a couple weeks ago and the garage pointed out that there was a couple of scrapes in the sidewall that went down to the white thread. Is is cosmetic or should I be worried about it? The tire holds air fine and the rubber is missing nowhere that would be in contact with tar. I was thinking of putting some kind of patch or goo over the scrapes to cover them up. Does anyone know what I might use for this? thanks>

My opinion this is a judgement call for you to make, personally to err on the side of caution I would replace it since it could affect the integrity of the tire and lead to a blowout. If it was a tire on a car/truck I probably wouldn't worry about it - if it blew out you can usually stop safely (unless its a Ford Explorer but we won't go there) but on the bike if you get a blowout you could easily get seriously injured or killed if you lose control. See what others say and post a pic if you can. I would replace it if it were mine.
