rode the hawk again :] and a daytona 675 and of course my rc51 :]

haha i just rode my hawk again tonight. been a DAMN long time. forgot to mention i've been riding around a little harley sportster 883 on weekends away from school. different feel definitely, but its kinda fun whacking the throttle open and it doesnt do much for a while, then u hear that "rolling thunder" come on haha.

but yeah, my friend is thinking about selling his 07 daytona 675, so i asked him if i could "test ride it" LOL. omfg whoever said 600's were slow ?!?!??! i mean, wtf, the bugger HAULED (from my seat of the pants assessment anyways). i mean, its not the same feeling as a twin, but it was VERY respectable. i thought it was gonna be like "oh whatever lemme whack the crap outta this thing" its a shame, i think only my rc51 pulls harder :(

to those who have asked about rc51 vs superhawk comparisons before: the hawk is 100x easier to ride when you're not cornering at like >40mph. hands down. the hawk is a little heavy yes, but compared to the rc around town, its bloody outright flickable.

mad respect to the 675 though i wouldnt mind riding one at all.

Slow speed on an RC it feels like a truck... But push it and it comes alive...:)

And nah... the new 600's ain't slow by anyones standard... takes a bit of wringing... but then they are really fast... Feels entirely different as you said though...

daytona 675 will be my next bike. its not an I-4. its a triple. more torque than an I-4 without the sissy sound. I always loved that bike.

The 675 is surprisingly torquey, doesn't need to have its engine wound to 5 digits to make power.

From what I hear, and I believe it because I have sat on one, it's one of the most uncomfortable rides out there.

swordfish 12-17-2008 02:07 PM

I think it depends on the rider. I have sat on them and I can tell you, they are small. dimensions are smaller than the 600cc bikes. some like it, but big guys not so much.

thefauxnarchist 12-17-2008 02:19 PM

yeah theyre skinny and tall. to me, they were the most committed ergos, gsxr being least. i mean, u KNOW the bike means business when u sit on it. ducati-esque almost :]

Tweety 12-17-2008 02:45 PM

Yeah... it's a business stance alright... Unfortunately it felt like a toy bike under me... To small as I'm 6'3"...

thefauxnarchist 12-17-2008 02:56 PM

yeah really small...same thing with the 07 cbr600rrs for me. they felt almost like scooters...until u revved them LOL

TRIUMPH..... There is no substitute,'nuff said...

I've test ridden the 675 and I thought it was very cool - fast, good handling, good stopping, good looking, too. But at 6'2" it was too race oriented for my typical riding. I'd like to try the Street Triple - it's gotten very good reviews. The Speed Triple ain't bad neither.
