Rider to remember/

Looking thru past photos from the Dragon's Tail rides and found these on a zip disk. Thought the group would enjoy, and admire a rider that enjoyed his machine....

Is that a friend of yours? I noticed the Yosh carbon fiber slip-ons, not Akrapovic.

Excellent form, regardless...especially in the first photo.

That's Blue Ridge Boy, a departed forum member. Obviously a talented rider, but also a bright and reflective young man.

Yes, I remember him and his passing last year. He was a bright spot on this forum, and he is missed.

1971allchaos - do you know his family?

RCVTR 08-27-2010 01:40 PM

Yes, I remember him too. Enthusiastic kid!

I was very sorry to hear of his passing.

Yes, I knew the family. Spent many AMA, WERA, race road trips to VIR, or ALT, SAV- GA. with father and zae, and my own father, and uaually a dozen other riders... Zae's passing, had a devastating effect on his family- i haven't seen them in eight months. Believe all grief in their own way.
The Sport Bike community here in Buncombe Co. have rallied a ride of 50 miles -the past two years on his passing anniversary- WE (80 bikes) rode this past date.

I wanted to update this post. To let the group know more info..
Now -almost two and half years later... Zae's mother contacted me.
Her holding on to the very machine Zae enjoyed, in her time of grieving..
She asked of me to come and get his bike, to restore it back to the condition, he once had the bike in..

Ms. Speed (now(Zae's mother) is now able to laugh with me at Zae's passion for riding(without crying) The family is still very torn, yet now moving on with their lives, and will be moving out of the mountains of NC...

Thanks for the update. I think I would like to see the restoration process as a form of memorializing a fallen friend.

I'm new to the forum but reading something like this is extremely touching. I believe this young man would want something like this. You have my support and help if you need it.

Yo C

That would be a great thing to do.

RIP Zae

I think that would be a great thing to do. Good luck with the rebuild. I for one would really enjoy seeing the process of getting the bike back up and running. Great way to celebrate and commemorate a lost friend. Still makes me sad when I read threads like this, makes you realize how lucky we all are. Ride safe all.

rbrais 05-24-2012 11:08 AM

That would be nice.

I remember him on here. I had not heard of his passing. Life is too short....

These are photos of the 1998 S-hawk,
Zae's parents could not sale/ and could fathom the seeing the bike in the garage.
The bike was taken to his uncles barn.
This is where I retrieved , after the time.

BlueRidgeBoy Superhawk is nearly back to the way Zae left it.;)

Pictures to follow.
