Removing bar-end anchors

I just bought some nifty bar-end mirrors (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/BAR-E...Q5fAccessories) and will be looking at installing them in the next few days. My question relates to removing the anchors located in the clip-ons (that hold the bar ends in place). Is there a trick to removing these? I feel kind of silly asking but thought I'd do so before tackling the job.

I just did mine everything has to come outof the clip-on, take the bar end weight off and put the screw back in and start pulling with pliers and it should come out after a little fight. Also your going to notice a little vibration without the weights but not to bad...

After you take your grips off you'll notice a couple of small holes near the end of the bar.
That's where the bar end weight holders lock in.
Take a scribe or punch and depress the small metal tabs inside the holes while you pull on the holder at the same time.
That's the tricky part, depressing two tabs and pulling on the weight = three hands, I only have two..........

But that's the way to get them out without destroying the clips.

Expect noticeably more vibration through the hands. I put mine back on.

Nice mirrors. If vibration becomes an issue you can pack inside the bars with something to add a little weight.I have used lead shot and ball bearings in the past, both are effective.

I am debating whether I'll install them now or wait until after my rebuild (which will include a crank balancing). I have thought of adding ball bearings or something similar though as I am told it works well.

cheers
