Radiator rust

1 Attachment(s)
I'm swapping from broken radiator to one I purchased used from someone else. Looks like a rust film thruout. Is this ok? Or should I not use it? Possible to clean out? Image attached to view and compare. If any idea, let me know.

I would clean it. I'm pretty sure most radiator flushing chemicals are meant to clean out rust so I would drop it in a 5 gallon bucket mixed with hot water and rad flush and let it sit for a while maybe a day or 2(but keep an eye on it) and see if it does anything then flush it out with your garden hose...

Take it to a radiator service and have them flush it .

You way have to re paint it but that will solve the problem.

+1 & they can pressure test it while it's there.

It doesnt look bad enough to foul things up or prevent good heat exchange.
Run it and change the coolant after a thousand miles.

Thanks for posting. It makes me realize I need to flush the cooling systems on my vehicles .

Fill it up with a hot solution of 1 part white vinegar and 2 parts water. Let it site and then flush with water.
