Radiator Hoses on ebay advice
Has anyone uses these and can comment on Them
HONDA VTR 1000 F FIRESTORM 1997-2006 HIGH PERFORMANCE SILICONE RADIATOR HOSES | eBay |
Have not but hell, how bad could they be and the price seems fair, let us know how they do
|
will do putting the order in now
|
I have always wanted those. Some nut on here was selling some but never responded when I tried to buy them. (that's a joke)
They are meant to improve cooling efficiency. Not as durable from what I hear but they look good. Report back on how they seem. |
They look nice all the right shapes and sizes well made but outside material could be made of something more durable just make sure of rubbing should be ok. fast shipping
|
No they are completely a different material. They are silicone and way way thinner walled tubes. They actually have a radiating effect and shed heat right thru the hose itself.
Very trick. |
I was under the impression that they were supposed to be MORE durable. I remember them being one of the upgrades the 9c1 cop cars came with from the factory. I put a set on my car (from OBX) years ago (probably 150k miles ago). Never had an issue in the Florida heat and they still look new.
I'd imagine if you have $125 to spend on hoses they look real nice and the piece of mind it's one thing you'll probably never have to worry about again... |
I mean not as durable in a crash. Its pretty rare for a cars hoses to contact tarmac but on a bike they are not as abrasion resistant as the thick rubber hoses.
They are more durable in that they rot and deteriorate less easily. And are less prone to ozone rotting. |

if I crash and the hoses get road rash I think I will have more problems to worry about than the hose. jmho should work fine and they are thicker not thinner as far as the hose wall goes.

Hmmm, think again. On the track it plays out often. You crash, the bike and you are ok but the coolant all flows into the environment. Now you cant get back.
This reason alone is what stopped me putting them on my daily commuter vtr. I need above all else to not be stranded. Well that and the cost over stock. But I did want their cooling properties. http://www.motoiq.com/MagazineArticl...he-Street.aspx |
well they where a better price than stock and I will find out on there durability will keep you updated
|
They were cheaper than stock? Meaning from Honda?
|
I use those on my dirt bikes and SuporMoto, but sprang for SAMCO for the Superhawk and my wifes Ninja 650R
