Thanks Nath, seems the RC45 throttle tube is an option but not an entirely great one,I have the complete housing from my old Yz426 in the shed,I may try that and see if it will work:)

you can always make your own with some plastic pipe...

take some pvc pipe and cut a thin section, then cut a slit in it to make it a C so you can fit it in the cable guide and presto - short throw throttle tube - and all it took was a couple dollars at the hardware store... or less if you have some lieing around...

I use Lockhart Phillips units on all my racebikes. Cant picture wanting one on a street bike though.

Actually my experience is that once you install it and ride for a few hours it feels perfectly natural however I don't have a monster long gravel driveway either.

I have one available if you're still interested, I'll have to check my notes for how much I paid. Let me know.

Hi mate! Wondering where you from? That's cheap! I'd rather do that but will consider the bit of pvc pipe if I can figure that out!

apezman07 12-22-2019 09:37 PM

just glue a zip tie on the twist under where the throttle cables ride. cut off the head of the zip tie and bevel the edges of course. i did this on a ninja i used to have, it was called the quarter turn throttle mod.

I have a thread on this forum of how to use PVC pipe to make a custom ramp to turn it into a 1/4 turn throttle.

yamaha R6 units also fit, and bin the return cable it makes things a lot easier and lighter to use

HRC Part 53141-MT7-000 is a quick turn throttle tube that fits right in, no mods required. The only caveat is it takes up most of the available cable adjustment. It's available from Partzilla, ETC. for about $25 USD.
