PSA: watch for them speedbumps
We had to stand out of the seat and go over a little 2x4 in our MSF basic class. On a related note, this guy seems to have tested every side of his helmet:

Ouch!

kinda looked like the bike hit him at one point. That must have ruined his day. He does get 10 points for the jr. bird man launch tho!
|
He definitely lifted off the seat
|
wow that was some good air. Doesn't look like they are required to wear enough safety gear....I see only a 3/4 helmet? Doesn't look like even gloves
|
Any ideas how he got the back of the bike up in the air? All I can think of is that he locked or was at the point of locking the front brake when he hit the speed bump. I'm not going to experiment.

I don't think police bikes have the greatest weight distribution, what with all the added gear.
I'm guessing the forks bottomed out, then the front wheel became a fulcrum, and the rear of the bike just levered forward due to inertia. And those other cops on the sidewalk weren't in too much of a hurry to get out there and help him, were they? |

Glad to see him sit up. That was rough to watch to say the least. Good on the guy behind him to have quick reflexes!
|
gawd that was simply horrible....first he was going too dang fast for the speed bump. front will always make it its the back that launch's everytime on speedbumps. ooouch hurt my eyes to even watch it "and the embarresment he musta felt in front of all his peers

looked like he tried to sit up but decided to chill. A nauseating feeling he's not gonna forget for a while and nervous to get back on. A rough way to to learn about his bike!
