Am a former Chicken Hawk and RC51 guy looking to get back into riding again. (wife, kids, boats, school, sports = pressure to sell)

I STILL dream about the noise that the D&D slip-ons spat out on my '98 996. Was like the end of the world was coming down the street!! Upgraded to an RC51 with Carbon Jardines in 2003. RC was great but not on longer rides and the sound wasn't like the D&D's.

I'm looking for an early 2000 SuperHawk but would like a D&D high mount set up. Seeing a few with high mount 2Bro's. They sound good on a fiends Duc M750 but on a 996??? Anyone have thoughts??

I don't think I've ever seen a D&D set of high mounts but what you can do is use D&D cans with Jardine midpipes. They'll fit fine. Agreed I had a pair on for awhile and they do sound awesome, definitely louder and more obnoxious than others. I think it's kinda hard to make our bikes sound bad though so it's really probably going to come down to what looks you prefer. Welcome aboard and good luck.

I also just checked with D&D and they do not make a high mount kit. I'lkl check out bikes with 2Bros and if they sound poor, then step up to a custom D&D high mount with your suggestion.

Nothing beats a 1st or 2nd gear power wheelie on a vtwin

i have jardine high mounts very happy with how they sound. but if you like the d&d's you could always get jardine or 2bros high mount mid pipes there were some on ebay for a decent price not to long ago

I just joined the Moriwaki cam club cant wait to get them on with a set of pistons. I have a extra motor to play with. I just ordered the jardine high mounts will let you know. They will be on way before the cams oh well.

From my experience the Two Bros have a nice deep "tuned" sound-they make a nice set of pipes. The jardines were a little higher pitched, still pretty loud, can't beat them for the price if you're buying new. But the D&D's sound more like a shortened set of cans, alot more of that just plain loud drag pipe sound. I've also had high devils and currently high leos and they both sound awesome too. I even punched out a pair of stock mufflers and honestly they sounded as good or better than most any aftermarket cans I've tried. Like I said mostly going on what you like the looks of. The jardines, or at least the round black cans, have chrome midpipes that have the smallest diameter, and have those sweet polished hangers. The rest of the high mounts are all stainless (thought two bros may have also made chrome but I've only seen stainless) which is nice because you can polish scratches out of them and always make them look new again no matter how old and nasty they get. The devil midpipes are like sewer pipes and look pretty mean. I settled on a pair of high carbon Leos and pulled them in up tight in the back and I think I'm happy with them.

I've got a set of hindle titanuim high mounts that sound sweet. the only downside is that the cans are kinda big compared to the jardines, or the devils.

Just want to clear this up. I could use jardine midpipes and use my d&ds. Does that mean I can keep the passenger foot pegs on too. i'll have to buy the brackets too huh.

I LOVED my D&D's. I had a friend that had a set of 2Bros and we both agreed that the D&D's sounded better.

I had a D&D can and fit it perfect into a chrome Jardine high mount midpipe. I've even seen at least one or two bikes with that actual setup. Should be able to use the jardines mids and hangers with the D&D cans and muffler clamps. The whole Jardine kit comes with the spacers and bolts to space out and pegs, but last time I checked (years ago) Jardine still sold all the parts separately.
